Description
We are city folk learning to live the rural life, doing our best to live a sustainably. In our previous life, we ran a boutique hotel in Downtown Montreal. The pandemic allowed us to reevaluate our life, and take the plunge to build the homestead we always talked about. We've dreamed of giving our kids a rural upbringing, and though the pandemic was a disaster for our business, it also afforded us the time to reflect on what we really wanted for our family.
Our 2-acre property is in beautiful Prince Edward County, home of wineries and sandy beaches. Our lawn is now a 1/4 acre Market Garden, where we grow veggies that explore our heritage. A permaculture garden is also in the works. We currently also have 20 chickens laying a beautiful bouquet of eggs.
Everything we do, we do with the environment in mind. We intend to heal our land, and leave it stronger than how we found it.

We are adventurous, and love to learn and show our kids the different facets of life around the world. You could learn about the Hmong people, about Asian cooking and Asian veggies, some woodworking, farm maintenance, growing all sorts of foods, what BioChar is, how to heal the earth, self sustenance, and more. We love all sorts of random stuff.
Our homestead has a small farm, food forests, hügelkultur beds, a flower garden, bee hives, and much more.Help
We need the most help rewinding our lawn, building out our permaculture food forest, planting more trees and bushes, and exploring other ways to create natural habitats that improve biodiversity. No experience is necessary!
In general, we expect a trade of 15-20 hours a week. We are flexible on how we can split this up.
Because there is some training involved, we would like to visitors to commit at least 3 weeks.Languages spoken
