    Description

    G'day Guys and Gals,

Here's a grand opportunity to Work, Rest and Play-

We have a new house that needs some plastering, painting and floor tiles to be laid.

Our animals need new residences as we are eliminating wood constructions owing to fire risks and replacing with concrete block buildings.

    New fencing will be needed.

We must prepare the Farm Land area for growing food next year after the Winter rains. The growing area has been neglected.

    We have a small tractor.

The old wooden kitchen down by the seasonal river has an enclosed veranda. There needs to be a shower installed there. And a few other renovations.

Some new water piping needs to be installed and a secondary pump installed.

We have also a Caravan that you can stay in. You can make a pot of coffee there. :-)

In the new year, we want to build a Swimming Pool and recreational area.

A professional digger will come in to do the ground preparation and digging. Don’t worry about that.

We are looking for a totally Fit Person with no health problems.

Four Hours a Day for 5 Days, in Exchange for Good Food and Accommodation for each week. (Weekends off with a filled tummy and a place to sleep)

When the pool is finished if you are still here, then you will be able to enjoy splashing and swimming and having more fun.

When the Entertainment area with bug screens and a roof have been completed, you’ll be enjoying BBQ Food even in Summertime. (Rustic land in Portugal requires a dedicated fire protection area for BBQs during the no Burn Period.)

Hopefully you have, and can play a Guitar or something and that would add to the fun.

Please feel free to ask questions and we shall do our best to answer.

    Cheers for now,
    Kevin and Ellie

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

A Caravan is at your disposal and a Compost Loo just for your own use.

Dining is a communal experience. But of course you can make a cuppa in the caravan.

This ain't the Ritz. We are 100% Off The Grid. But you will be able to make use of TWO 100 Watt Solar Panels to charge up your devices. Please ONLY charge up devices during Sunshine otherwise you'll damage the batteries.

If you need a shower, you'll need to assemble one in your free time. When we started off living Off The Grid, we used a plastic bath and wash bowl. It makes you more self reliant to live Off The Grid.

We drink our well water. Have done so since 2015 when we bought the land. If you want to walk to the village just a half Kilometer away, they have the finest pure sweet spring water that's free. And you can buy Coke there at the cafe.

    TRAVELLING TO THE CITY

There is a bus that goes into the City of Castelo Branco where you can take in the sights, watch a film, eat at the many eateries and fast food joints like Burger King, McDonalds, Pizza Hut... you can even take up 10 Pin Bowling or just go for a swim at the city's pool. Until ours is ready of course :-)

    Whatever floats your boat.

We will provide the use of a Caravan if you wish to use it. The Old Wooden Kitchen down by the Seasonal River may be used instead, if you prefer. We lived in it for a couple of years. It has Lights. Also a Wood Burning Cast Iron Cooking Stove that is great for keeping warm in Winter. If you come in a motorhome then there's room for parking too.
