Description
We are a lively Irish family with five children living in the countryside on a 1.3-acre property in Ireland, currently renovating and improving our family home and outdoor spaces. We are looking for friendly, practical Workawayers who would enjoy becoming part of family life for a while and helping with ongoing projects around the home and garden.
Our home is busy, energetic, and full of laughter, music, sport, and general Irish “craic”. Rugby is a huge part of our lives and we are very involved in our local rugby club and community, so there is usually something happening between matches, training, fundraising events, and social activities.
Both of us work in healthcare, so life can sometimes be busy and chaotic, but we value kindness, humour, good food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
We mostly eat fresh, non-processed foods with lots of home cooking, good quality meat, and fresh eggs from our lively hens. We are also trying to grow more of our own food and become a little more self-sufficient, so we would especially welcome someone with gardening, vegetable growing, or sustainability knowledge who could help and teach us along the way.
We also have a very friendly dog called Goldie.
Workawayers would stay in a fully equipped modern caravan with full electric heating, electricity, WiFi, and kitchen facilities. There is also access to an electric shower, toilet, laundry facilities, and outdoor spaces. The setup is suitable for two Workawayers or a couple travelling together.
We are located around 30 minutes from Limerick, 1 hour from Cork, and 2 hours from Dublin, with lots of beautiful countryside, historical sites, and outdoor activities nearby.
Help may include painting, gardening, DIY assistance, outdoor projects, helping organise renovation areas, and possibly creative activities with the children such as art or painting.
All food, electricity, and accommodation costs are covered by us, and Workawayers are welcome to tag along on outings, rugby events, shopping trips, or local activities in our 9-seater family car when suitable.
We are flexible about schedules and are happy to do either shorter daily hours or 2–3 longer working days each week to allow more free time.
We are a completely non-smoking household and ask for a minimum stay of 4 weeks so everyone has time to properly settle in and become part of family life. -

Help
We are mainly looking for help with our ongoing home renovation projects, outdoor spaces, and developing our garden and food-growing areas. The type of work can vary from week to week depending on weather and what projects are happening at the time.
Typical help may include:
Painting and decorating
General DIY assistance
Gardening and outdoor maintenance
Helping create vegetable growing areas
Learning and sharing ideas around growing food and sustainability
Organising renovation spaces and materials
Tidying outdoor areas
Light labouring and practical tasks around the property
Occasional creative activities with the children such as painting or art
We are not expecting professional tradespeople — attitude, enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to get involved are much more important to us.
We are very flexible with schedules and are happy to arrange either:
Around 4–5 hours per day over 5 days
or
2–3 longer working days per week to allow more free time and travel opportunities.
In return, we provide accommodation, all food, electricity, WiFi, and a relaxed family environment with plenty of Irish countryside life, rugby, music, and general craic. -

Full electric heating
Electricity and lighting
WiFi
Comfortable sleeping space
Modern living area
Full kitchen facilities
There is also access to:
Electric shower
Toilet facilities
Laundry facilities
Outdoor seating and garden areas
All accommodation costs, electricity, WiFi, and food are fully covered by us -
What else ...
Rock of Cashel, Tipperary.
Devil's bit, Templemore.
There is plenty to do locally during time off, especially for someone who enjoys the outdoors, sport, nature, or experiencing real Irish countryside life.
We are located around 30 minutes from Limerick, 1 hour from Cork, and about 2 hours from Dublin, so there are lots of opportunities for day trips and exploring.
The local area has:
Beautiful countryside and scenic drives
Historical sites and old castles
Traditional Irish pubs and music
Walking and hiking opportunities
Local sports and rugby events
Nearby towns and villages to explore
Beaches and coastal trips within driving distance
Because we are a busy family and involved in our local rugby club and community, there are often matches, social events, and activities happening locally that Workawayers are welcome to join if they wish.
We have a 9-seater family car, so Workawayers are welcome to tag along on outings, shopping trips, rugby events, or local trips when suitable. We are happy to help people experience local Irish life as much as possible.
A driver’s licence is not necessary, although rural Ireland is naturally quieter and more spread out than cities, so it suits someone who enjoys countryside living and a slower pace at times.
We really want Workawayers to feel comfortable, included, and part of family life while also having their own space and independence. -
