Description
This is a relatively new hostel that is located in the heart of San Cristóbal de las Casas and occupies a house that is laid as historical heritage, and all preserved as a colonial house. The project was born at the beginning of 2018 of a dream of Esperanza and Jorge and continues with all the wings and love of all the team that dreams and works here.
The space is a place of tranquility for all people who want to rest and enjoy peace during their trip, so everything is designed to provide a chill out ambient. The house has a TV room with fireplace, cushions and armchairs to enjoy a good movie, a terrace with comfortable chairs to appreciate the view with mountains and a common area open on the garden that consists of green area and armchairs that is perfect for reading a book or taking a beer.
We work with a team of three volunteers at the maximum and cleaning staff, always looking for integration and a harmonious home.
Es un hostal nuevo que se encuentra en el corazón de San Cristóbal de las Casas y es protegida como patrimonio arquitectónico mexicano, preservada como casa colonial. El proyecto nació en el inicio de 2018 de un sueño de Esperanza y Jorge y sigue adelante con todas las alas y el amor de todo el equipo que acá sueña y trabaja.
El espacio es un lugar de tranquilidad para todas las personas que buscan descansar y disfrutar de paz durante su viaje, así que es todo diseñado para proporcionar todo el ambiente necesario. La casa cuenta con una sala de televisión con chimenea, cojines y sillones para disfrutar de una buena película, una terraza con confortables sillas para apreciar la vista con montañas y un área común abierta en el patio que consta de área verde y sillones, perfecto para leer un libro o degustar una rica cerveza.
Trabajamos con un equipo de dos voluntarios máximo y el personal de limpieza, buscando siempre integración y una armonía hogareña.

The volunteers can learn about the local culture from the hostel's employees and owners. Esperanza is a sociologist and can teach you a lot about the local culture.
Los voluntarios pueden aprender sobre la cultura local con los empleados y los dueños del hostal. Esperanza es socióloga y puede enseñarles mucho sobre la cultura local.
Help
The urgent help we need is at the reception. We need two volunteers to do the reception work which consists of:
- Attend to guests: check in / check out, be aware of if they need help, show the house and talk about the tourist places.
- Change of sheets and check if the rooms are okay. (We have cleaning staff who do the cleaning, the help is to check if everything is okay for the guest's arrival)
- Management of reservations. (Administrators make reservations via social networks, volunteers must check who arrives and who leaves).
- Management of the external communication (Instagram, Facebook, etc)
La ayuda urgente que necesitamos es en la recepción. Necesitamos dos voluntarios que hagan el trabajo de recepción que consiste en:
- Atender los huéspedes: hacer el check in/check out, estar pendientes de si necesitan ayuda, mostrar la casa y hablar de los lugares turísticos.
- Cambio de sabanas y verificar si las habitaciones se encuentran bien. (Tenemos personal de limpieza que hace el aseo, la ayuda es verificar si todo está bien para llegada del huésped)
- Manejo de reservas. (Los administradores hacen las reservas vía redes sociales, los voluntarios deben revisar quién llega y quién se va).
- Manejo de la comunicación externa (Instagram, Facebook, et.)

Accommodation
We have bunk beds in shared and mixed dormitory for volunteers and that can also be occupied by guests. The rooms are comfortable, with good blankets for the cold and very quiet. Volunteering consists of lodging, breakfast and volunteers can use all the facilities of the hostel (kitchen, hot water, common rooms).
Contamos con camas-literas en dormitorio compartido y mixto para voluntarios y que también pueden ser ocupadas por huéspedes. Las habitaciones son confortables, con buenas cobijas para el frio y muy silenciosas. El voluntariado consta de hospedaje, desayuno y las y los voluntarios pueden usar todas las instalaciones del hostal (cocina, agua caliente, salas comunes).
What else ...
Volunteers can participate in cultural events, walks through the parks and walk around the city. Near the hostel there is a craft and food market where the indigenous communities sell their products, so whenever they want to learn from the local culture they can walk through that place which is a key cultural point of the city. Near the hostel there are transports to all tourist points of Chiapas.
En su horario libre los voluntarios pueden participar de eventos culturales, paseos por los parques naturales y caminar por la ciudad. Cerca del hostal se encuentra un mercado de artesanías y comida donde las comunidades indígenas venden sus productos, así que siempre que quieran aprender de la cultura local pueden ir a este punto cultural que es llave de la ciudad. Cerca del hostal se encuentran transportes para todos los puntos turísticos de Chiapas.
