    Description

We are a family (Mum, Dad, a five year old and a 6 month old baby).
We are Irish speakers whoplay traditional music, are nature lovers and are moving house to a beautiful area, rich in culture, music and natural beauty. We love travelling ourselves and have hapily hosted international volunteers in the past.

We are moving from our vegetable farm in Cork to our new small farm in west Co. Clare. The house is a modernised traditional cottage in a beautiful, quiet countryside location on 7 acres but only 10 mins drive from the arty, fun town of Ennistymon with shops, cafes, galleries, pubs, library and public buses and a 15 minute drive to the well-known surf beach of Lahinch which has a good public swimming pool, gym and surf schools. The world-famous cliffs of Moher, Burren National Park and Aran Islands are less than an hour away. Ennis, the nearest big town with cinema etc. is 25 mins away by car.
For a cultural experience you could not get a better place (which is why we are moving here!), the area is known for its traditional music and dance, many artists live locally, the native language is spoken on the nearby Aran Islands and the Burren is known for its flourishing biodiversity, hikes and unique geology.

We are looking for someone (preferably female, though open on that) to help with our children and a bit of help with house-work. We have hosted volunteers before and love when people just come and join our family. Childcare work will be 3 days per week (25hrs) minding 4 month old baby while mum works from home office (so you won't be alone in the house with the children). For those 3 days we'll need you to mind our 5 year old whens she's home from school in the afternoon.

Currently looking for someone for a 2 month or longer stay as we get ourselves established in our new home. please bear in mind that we haven't moved into the new home yet so the bedroom will be nicer than in the photographs. We'll also need our volunteer to understand that we are moving house and that it will take a few weeks to have everything running smoothly!

We are traditional music players and will be attending local sessions. This part of Ireland is known for its traditional music and dance .The gaeltacht (native Irish speaking) area of the Aran Islands is an hour trip away.

We are also very close to a part of the cost famous for surfing and we ourselves enjoy sea-swimming and surfing .

We speak native Irish language in the house and are interested in learning more languages (we have basic French, German and Spainish). We love having foreign people to stay!

We have been growing organic vegetables for years and while we may not be at the stage of seeing up a vegetable garden when you arrive we are enthusiastic cooks and would be delighted to share our love of good food.

    Help

We are seeking 1 person or 2 friends/couple (willing to share a bed and room) to join our family and primarily help with childminding (a 4 month old baby for 3 days a week (9-5.30) and our 5 year old in the afternoons of those three days) Mum will be working from home so you wont be hime alone with the children. If theres two volunteers we could use with a bit of help around the house as we move in and set up, essentially tidying the yard.

We are moving house from Cork to Ennistymon, Co Clare and so will need someone who is happy to stay for at least 2 months or longer to help settle in. Mum is going back to work in April/ May shortly after we move and so we will need someone to mind our 6 month old baby and 5 year old (who will be in school until 1.30pm each day), 24 hours a week while she works (from an office in the home).

We are looking for someone that would genuinely love minding a baby and a 5 year old. This is the most important thing! Our eldest child is 5, good natured and fun and will be at school until lunchtime each day. We are looking for people who are kind, patient and happy to live with children. Because routine is important for children we will need someone who is happy to stay a minimum of 2 to 3 months (or longer if desired!)

You will have the privacy of your own space/room of course for when you need your own time to relax

The 25hrs of help a week is essential in the arrangement but with some notice (because this would involve agreement with mum's employer) there can be some flexibility to accommodate your own plans. It could be 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm 3 days a week OR 9am to 2pm 5 days a week.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Own transport is recommended but not necessary, as we live in a rural area with limited public transport, but Dad will be going to work 4 days a week to nearby Ennistymon. Having your own transport here would be ideal, though if you like to cycle the town and beaches are within 30mins and 45mins (though remember Ireland can be wet!).
