Hi! We are a young sri Lankan-English couple who run a jungle hostel in unawatuna in the south west of Sri Lanka. The hostel is just a couple of kilometres from A number of stunning beaches, but is set in the jungle surrounded by coconut, mango and banana trees. Our aim is to create a fun and relaxed vibe, that feels like home for our guests.
The hostel has two private double rooms, and two four man dorms with a big kitchen (which is available for your use) and lots of great chill out areas.
We are looking for friendly and outgoing people to help create the perfect atmosphere and ensure all our guests have a great stay. Creative skills are very welcome so we can continue to decorate the hostel and make it even more magical. We are also looking for someone with some good photography skills to take pictures of hostel life for social media.

Sri Lanka is an incredibly beautiful and culturally diverse country and volunteering at our hostel will leave you plenty of time to explore the area, learn about the culture and get to know travellers and locals alike. As one of the owners is Sri Lankan and grew up in this town, we are able to show you and teach you about a side of this area of Sri Lanka that most tourists will miss.
The hostel is also just 5 km from Galle Fort and there are a number of beautiful temples nearby.
We are generally just looking for someone to help us create a really special place for travellers to stay. The main responsibilities will be helping to welcome and socialise with the guests so that they really enjoy their stay and generally hanging out to create a really friendly and fun atmosphere.
Volunteers will be given a bed in a dorm room of their choice and breakfast everyday. Volunteers will also have access to the kitchen for other meals
There is much to see in the surrounding area, including many beautiful beaches, rainforests, temples and Galle fort is just a few kilometres away. There are a number of good surfing spots nearby, suitable for both beginners and more advanced surfers. Other activities in the area include snorkelling, diving and yoga. Unawatuna also has lots of good bars, restaurants and places to party.
