    Description

We live in a cozy home in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, with our four dogs: Wonton, Bowie, Peanut, and Gertie. Eagle Rock is a safe, vibrant neighborhood with a laid-back, creative vibe. We're within walking distance of York Boulevard, where you'll find plenty of great cafés, restaurants, bars, boutiques, and local shops to explore.

You'll have your own private guest house (ADU) in the backyard, complete with one bedroom, one bathroom, and everything you need for a comfortable stay while you're here.

Our dogs are all very different, and that's part of what makes them so fun!

Wonton is a West Highland White Terrier (Westie). He's incredibly friendly and loves meeting new people. His favorite things are getting pets, playing fetch, and chasing tennis balls.
Bowie is a Border Collie. He's gentle, intelligent, and a little sensitive. Once he bonds with you, he'll happily follow you around and always wants to be close by.
Peanut and Gertie are our two rescued Chihuahua mixes. They can be a bit cautious when meeting someone new, but with a little patience, they quickly warm up and become affectionate, loyal cuddle bugs.

Our dogs are part of the family, so we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with them and will give them lots of love and attention while we're away.

Eagle Rock is a wonderful base for exploring Los Angeles while still enjoying the feel of a walkable neighborhood. During your stay, you can stroll to York Boulevard, which is lined with great coffee shops, restaurants, bars, vintage stores, and local boutiques. The neighborhood also hosts occasional art walks, live music, and community events, especially on weekends.

We're also just a short drive from Highland Park, Pasadena, Silver Lake, Griffith Park, Downtown LA, and many of LA's most popular attractions, making it easy to explore the city on your days off.

As our Workawayer, you'll get a taste of everyday life in Los Angeles beyond the typical tourist experience. We love creating a warm, welcoming home, spending time outdoors with our dogs, and enjoying the incredible food scene in the area. We're always happy to share recommendations for our favorite restaurants, hiking trails, beaches, and hidden local gems to help you make the most of your time here.

  • Help

    Help

We're primarily looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs and enjoys spending time with them. Our dogs are part of the family, so the most important thing is making sure they feel loved, safe, and cared for.

    Your daily responsibilities will include:

Walking the dogs twice a day (morning and evening).
    Feeding them twice a day.
Spending quality time with them through play, cuddles, and companionship.
Picking up dog poop in the backyard to keep the space clean.
Light household chores, such as keeping the kitchen tidy, wiping down counters, sweeping or mopping the floors as needed, and helping maintain a clean living space.
Keeping an eye on the dogs' well-being and letting us know if anything seems unusual.

The help is light—typically around 2–3 hours of active tasks each day, plus simply being around the house to keep the dogs company. The rest of the time is yours to explore Los Angeles, work remotely, or relax in your private guest house.

We're looking for someone who is responsible, communicative, and comfortable caring for multiple dogs with different personalities. Previous experience with dogs or house sitting is preferred, but the most important qualities are that you're patient, reliable, tidy, and genuinely enjoy being around animals. In return, you'll have a comfortable private space to yourself and the opportunity to experience one of Los Angeles' most charming neighborhoods while spending time with four wonderful dogs.

    Accommodation

You'll stay in our private, detached guest house (ADU) located in the backyard, giving you plenty of privacy while still being just steps away from the main house and the dogs. The space includes one bedroom, one bathroom, a comfortable living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and high-speed Wi-Fi, making it ideal for both relaxing and remote work.

The guest house has its own entrance, so you'll have your own space to unwind after a day of exploring Los Angeles or spending time with the dogs. You'll also have access to our backyard and outdoor seating areas. Free street parking is readily available in our quiet, safe neighborhood.
