    Description

    Hello and welcome!

I would love to host friendly, open-minded, and motivated Workawayers in my apartment in the very heart of Bologna. The location is one of its greatest advantages: from here, you can walk to many of the city's most beautiful attractions, historic streets, lively squares, cafés, restaurants, museums, and hidden gems. Bologna is a wonderfully welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant city, and I will be happy to share its authentic spirit with you and show you some of my favorite places beyond the typical tourist routes.

I have recently taken back possession of this apartment after it had been rented out for seven years. Because of this, the apartment is currently in a transition phase and needs some care and attention to bring it back to its full potential.

The help required will be no more than 4 hours per day / no more than 15 h per week and will mainly involve cleaning, organizing, sorting items, and helping with waste disposal. If we have extra time and energy, we may also work together on small improvement projects such as painting walls, minor repairs, decorating, and making the space feel fresh and welcoming again.

I want to be completely transparent: when you arrive, I will do my best to make sure you have a clean bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen area to use comfortably. However, you should expect that other parts of the apartment will still need work and organization, as I have only recently regained access to the property. This is very much a collaborative project that we will tackle together.

I will be present throughout the stay, working alongside you rather than simply assigning tasks. My hope is to create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where we can share experiences, meals, conversations, and discover Bologna together while gradually transforming the apartment.

If you enjoy practical projects, don't mind getting your hands a little dirty, and would like to experience everyday life in one of Italy's most fascinating cities, I would be delighted to welcome you.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing everyday life, conversations, meals, and experiences. As a local host, I can introduce you to the authentic side of Bologna beyond the usual tourist attractions, including local traditions, food, culture, and hidden gems of the city. I am also interested in learning about your culture, language, and experiences, making this a genuine cultural exchange where we can both learn from each other.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

The apartment is a spacious four-room flat consisting of two large living rooms and two double bedrooms. I live in one of the bedrooms, while the other will be available for up to two Workawayers. Guests can choose between sharing the double bed (ideal for couples) or using two single beds.

During the first week, accommodation will be limited to this room. As part of our project together, we will work on clearing and organizing one of the living rooms, which I hope to convert into an additional guest room. This means that, starting from July, more accommodation space for Workawayers may become available.

At the moment, one of the living rooms is being used to store items that need to be sorted, cleaned, or disposed of. Before your arrival, I will make sure that the shared spaces, bathroom, kitchen, and your bedroom are clean and ready for use, while the remaining areas will be improved together as part of the project.

Food is not included in the exchange. However, I will be happy to show you several ways to eat well on a budget in Bologna. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen freely, and basic cooking essentials such as cookware, utensils, and common ingredients will be available in the house.
