  Our is a traveling family: we love to have people from different places and cultures around us. Our mission is to make people fall in love with our stunning region and its environment. I used to travel the world and I lived in 3 different continents. At the moment I am relocating to Hiroshima, Japan for work. I've been working, taking care of my son and studying at the same time and it's been pretty challenging. I'd love someone to help me and to bring a little bite of the world in our home, so that he can experience multiculturalism and hear different languages.

  Help

  Dear Workawayers,
  I am looking for a someone who can come and stay here with us and help babysitting our toddler. Ideally, you will work for 4 to 5 hours a day taking care of my son when he comes back from the kindergarten. Therefore I will need your help mainly in the afternoon. There could be occasionally a time when he gets sick and cannot attend the kindergarten at all. In that case, I will need you to stay at home with him until I will be able to come back from work. If you work more than 5 hours a day to these kind of emergencies we will agree together on extra off days the following week. I am looking for someone who can stay at least 1 to 3 months. Depending on your nationality, you could stay in Japan without a Visa for a maximum of 90 days or less. I cannot accept shorter time because that will be disappointing and confusing for my child.
  The main task is to be with him and spend time with him until I get back. Helping in the house, cleaning or cooking is welcomed but not necessary. Weekends are off but feel free to join us to the beach or we could help you sightseeing. Japan is a beautiful place and the Chugoku Region offers hot springs, cycling trails (Shimanami Kaido is the longest off-the-shore cycling trail in Japan)
  
  Baby sitting is the main task: the best candidate is required to be responsible, creative and patient. If you can do crafts or sing a song or do yoga with my son you'll be just great. I am a fan of Montessori Education and I will share with you some of the techniques to raise self-confident children and increase self-awareness. Being with a child is not an easy job: they are the most active, reckless and funny human beings but at the same time they need guidance and respect. Therefore, it is essential to be sensitive and to be good listener. It is a very delicate job and you need to have a big heart and a great sensitiveness.
  
  We are Italian language native speakers but I'd like him to learn other languages. On the other hand, if you would like to learn some Italian I will be happy to teach you (I'm a certified language teacher).
  
  Cleanliness is important for us and for the safety of our child. Our house is very small and we try to keep it clean, especially the toilet and the bathroom (there's only one for us to share).
  
  I accept only non-smokers. Alcohol and drunkness are also not welcome in our house. Needless to say, you are expected to keep a good behavior with and without us. Japan is a very safe place and if something happens the responsible will be the host. Therefore any suspect behavior will terminate our volunteering-host agreement.
  
  After you send me your request we will have a small chat on a video call, to know each other better and to discuss about all the details of your stay. I used to travel the world before the pandemic, I am open-minded and I value cultural exchange. On the other hand, I expect from you kindness, respect and commitment. If you have these qualities and you want to visit Japan this is the place for you.
  
  PLEASE NOTE: the main task will be being with my child. I expect you to spend some valuable time with him, playing games, doing some artwork or music. If you don't like kids or if you have never had experience with kids please reconsider your application.

  I'd love to learn other languages or practice some I already know. Mostly, I'd like my toddler to become multilingual and I want to encourage him becoming familiar with different languages.

  Accommodation

  You will share the apartment with us. We have a spare room where you can have some privacy but Kitchen and bathroom/toilet are shared. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and 30 minutes walk from the city center.

  What else ...

  I work in an international kindergarten from early morning until 5-6pm. My child just entered the nursery and he's often sick, so I will need your help while at work. We will have spend some time together before I can leave you alone with my child since it's a very delicate task.
  
  Depending on your Country's visa regulations for entering Japan you could stay up to 3 months. If you want to stay longer, you can apply for working holidays visa or student visa, if you wish to learn Japanese. There are many Japanese schools here and I can help you find one.
