Description
Bonjour, I'm Joan, a french artist, living on a nice property in the Herault, 1 hour drive from Montpellier and the Mediterranean, and half an hour drive from the Meseta Larzac and the Salagou lake.
Bonjour,je suis Joan, une artiste française habitant une belle propriété dans l'Hérault, à 1 h de route de Montpellier et de la Méditerranée et à 1/2 h du plateau du Larzac et du lac du Salagou
My three children are away now but they come back regurlaly.
Our house and land need constant attention and maintenance. We also have a small stone house that still needs improvements.
There is much to do:outside work like clearing scrubs or cuting wood for winter
and inside work like painting or cleaning
Mes trois enfants sont partis de la maison mais ils reviennent régulièrement .
Notre maison et terrain ont besoin de constante attention et entretien.
Nous avons aussi une petite maison en pierres qui a besoin d'améliorations.
Il y a beaucoup à faire : à l'extérieur : débroussailler , couper du bois etc

Joan hosted me for two weeks during which she asked me to make plant boxes, put up shelves, repair two chairs & a table, cut up scrap metal for recycling, sweep a chimney and cut wood ready for winter.
Joan made me feel very welcome during my stay and introduced me to both the local area and to her family and friends who visited during my stay.

Staying with Joan and Julien was a real pleasure. They were very hospitable and welcomed me with warmth and generosity. We shared good conversation, ate great food and enjoyed some lovely wine. It was a nice cultural exchange.
The work was good too: interesting and often different each day.

it was nice to have Dom helping us .He worked in the garden, sanded and varnished windows and doors, put down some old shelves and it was not easy with the rusted screws !
