    Description

    Volunteers participating in this project will become part of an agroecological community focused on horses, nature, and mountain life in Arteaga, Coahuila.

    It's a practical and dynamic environment that combines ranch life, sustainability, wellness, and outdoor activities.

    They will be able to assist with the daily care of the horses, support riding lessons and polo practice, as well as mountain treks and the development of equestrian areas. They will also participate in activities on the mini-farm (with animals such as chickens, goats, and miniature horses), in the organic garden, and in regenerative agriculture projects.

    In addition, they can get involved in developing wellness spaces in nature, designing trails, hiking or biking routes, as well as planning an eco-hotel and glamping community on the ranch. There are also projects related to water systems and sustainability.

    The project is led by brothers Gustavo and Andrés, who are passionate about ranch life, horses, and sustainable development. Together with María, Andrés' wife and mother of three, the architect in charge of the space design, and Pancho and Mario, who manage the ranch with extensive local knowledge, they form a close-knit and dedicated team.

    Working with them represents a genuine opportunity to learn about rural life in northern Mexico, practice Spanish, and contribute to building a long-term rural community.
    =============
    Los voluntarios que participen en este proyecto formarán parte de una comunidad agroecológica enfocada en caballos, naturaleza y vida de montaña en Arteaga, Coahuila.

    Es un entorno práctico y dinámico donde se combinan la vida de rancho, la sostenibilidad, el bienestar y las actividades al aire libre.

    Podrán colaborar en el cuidado diario de los caballos, apoyo en clases de equitación y prácticas de polo, así como en recorridos de montaña y desarrollo de áreas ecuestres. También participarán en actividades de la mini granja (con animales como gallinas, cabras y mini caballos), en el huerto orgánico y en proyectos de agricultura regenerativa.

    Además, podrán involucrarse en el desarrollo de espacios de wellness en la naturaleza, diseño de senderos, rutas de hiking o ciclismo, así como en la planeación de un eco-hotel y comunidad de glamping dentro del rancho. También hay proyectos relacionados con sistemas de agua y sostenibilidad.

    El proyecto es liderado por los hermanos Gustavo y Andrés, apasionados por la vida de rancho, los caballos y el desarrollo sustentable. Junto con María, esposa de Andrés y madre de 3 hijos, arquitecta encargada del diseño de espacios, y Pancho y Mario, encargados del rancho con amplio conocimiento local, forman un equipo cercano y comprometido.

    Trabajar con ellos representa una oportunidad auténtica para aprender sobre la vida rural del norte de México, practicar español y contribuir a la creación de una comunidad de campo con visión de largo plazo.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    There are two shared dorm-style rooms in the volunteer house itself, and it’s all included for free as part of the volunteer exchange.
    We're thinking of organizing meals something like this:

    1) A woman from the community will cook two meals a day (regional Mexican food). Everyone will have breakfast.

    2) We'll provide ingredients from the garden and local markets so everyone can cook for themselves.

    3) We'll request ingredients for a special weekly meal (which they can cook and share with the other volunteers).

    ========

    Estamos pensando en que las comidas sean algo asi:

    1) Una señora de la comunidad que les cocine dos comidas al dia (comida mexicana regional). Desayuno cada quien
    2) Proporcionar ingredientes del huerto y de mercados locales para que cada uno pueda cocinarse.
    3) Solicitud de ingredientes para una comida semanal especial (que ellos puedan cocinar y compartir con los demás voluntarios)

    We give you a house to live with everything you need, including food

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    We live and work surrounded by horses and many other animals, and you will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with local people from the region who are part of the ranch team and nearby community.

    This creates a genuine cultural exchange experience and allows volunteers to learn about traditional ranch life in Northern Mexico.

    We usually ask volunteers to stay for a minimum of one week. If you would like to stay for longer than one month, we normally decide together once you are here, to make sure you feel comfortable and enjoy the place and the lifestyle.
