  • Description

Hello my name is Calum I am 22 years old and I run a farm with my Mum and Dad on a small island on the west coast of Scotland called lismore ()which is 12 mile long and 1 mile width , it has stunning views and a very friendly community consisting of 180 people. We have 500 blackfaced sheep and 20 Belgium blue cross cows which you will be taking part in feeding ,lambing ,drenching , jagging and also be taking part in day to day maintenance of the farm . We are look for someone that is willing to help, not afraid to get there hands dirty and happy to handle livestock from the months of March ,April and May .These are the lambing months which we are extremely busy so you will be in contact with sheep and young lambs . We have two holiday cottages for accommodation and also a small 2 bedroom cottage which I currently live in. I normally rent this cottage out but I stay in it between these months.

You can also learn the Scottish Gaelic language culture by many of the locals and also by the heritage centre where there is museum all about the history of Lismore. Experience farming am life living on one of the inner hebridean islands made out of limestone and where you have to depend on ferries. There are opportunities to hear traditional music; see historical and archaeological sites and experience the abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery that the are has to offer.
