Description
We are a couple in our mid 60s who enjoy meeting people from different cultures. We live in a lovely Southern California suburban city, 60 to 90 minute drive from San Diego, Palm Springs and Los Angeles. If you are an artistic type, please keep reading :-)
We are avid travelers and have traveled to dozens of countries, through workaway and home exchange as well as more "conventional" touring Randy has been a workawayer himself and Whitney has been a Peace Corps volunteer. Having traveled to so many countries and met so many wonderful people we have often talked about opening up our home to fellow travelers. We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath house and one of the rooms isn't being used at the moment. We thought it would be nice to host like minded, artistic travelers for shortish periods, ranging from 1 week to 1 month.
We are open to all diets, Whitney bakes her own sourdough bread and Randy can make incredible meals on the backyard grill.
We have relatively liberal political, social, and religious views. We have a desire for a world with, peace, collaboration among all cultures, and acceptance among of all people.
There is no nearby public transit so to go places a car would be needed if you want the maximum flexibility. Uber and Lyft are options, and we can can sometimes take you places.Types of help and learning opportunities

Travelers will benefit by learning about Southern California and can explore the 25 wineries within 10 miles of our home. There are multiple beaches within 1 hour drive. San Diego, Joshua Tree and Palm Springs are also about 1 hour away. Los Angeles is about 90 minutes away.
Help
We recently bought our forever home and are working on making into our dream house. A local artist painted a beautiful mural on one of the walls in our living room. We would love a creative, artistic workwear to create either another mural or larger scale paintings on canvas.
In addition, we always have projects we need help with. Things like hanging shelves. improving the watering system in our garden or building a bench.Languages

We will provide five days of food a week. We can cook together if you wish or take turns. .What else ...
We are very laid back; we like to watch movies and play board games. we occasionally host concerts in our home. We really can’t manage people who have many particular needs or are very new to the practicalities of the real world or conscientious group living. A good sense of humor always helps too :)
