Hello ! I am Ashok Koirala from Nepal. I am a Nepali farmer with the age of 44. All my family (my parents, my wife and three children) would be happy to welcome you during the time you wish. We are located on a hill called “lovely hill” which is 10min from taxi to Pokhara city center or 45 min by foot. Here you can enjoy a large and beautiful view of Pokhara city.
Here you will have the opportunity to live within our culture and help us with the farm (garden, veg and fruits, coffee trees, animals).

I have a land below my house where I have grown organic coffee trees for 7 years now, which is my main activity. You would have the opportunity to discover all the different steps of artisanal coffee production: harvest of coffee fruits, rinse, extraction of the coffee beans, drying… It’s gonna be a pleasure for me to teach you more about that.
I also have a garden with a lot of vegetables according to the season. I also have fruit trees. All of them are organic too, which is very important to me. So you can help by caring about the soil, planting the seeds, harvest and more.
I’m also passionate about plants and flowers so I have many different species everywhere around my house, and we can care about them.
Concerning the animals I have 2 cows and 1 buffalo to produce milk, and some chickens. I have 3 hives where I can have honey from my bees.
You can also help with cooking and for the household with my family.
Every morning we take the tea all together and then you can help me until around 11am. After that we share a traditional Dal Bhat and your afternoon is free.

    Accommodation

We have two rooms for volunteers in our house; there are four beds all together in those rooms where you can live freely and share your feelings and ideas. You will have your own floor with your own bathroom (shower and toilets), so you have your own space.
For food we will have 3 meals per day together. Those meals are made out of our own organic products and we have to ask you kindly to pay 5 Dollars per day to experience this traditional Nepali food. With this investment you will support local and biological agriculture, so we hope you don´t mind.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

I was also a trekking guide some years ago. So you can ask me about trekking and benefit from my personal contacts (for example also paragliding) if you would like to enjoy those experiences.
It is also possible for you to go hiking in the area of my home with me as your guide or on your own.
In this area (small jungle) you get the opportunity to see animals like leopards, bears, Nepali rabbits, snakes...If you walk ten minutes up the hill you will sometimes be able to see peaks of mountains of almost 8000 meters.
So we would love to have you here as our friend and welcome you in our home. My children who are speaking English very well would also be happy to discuss and play with you.

Note:- If you have more than two weeks that will be better. Because I also can teach something and you also can teach me something.
