Description
We own a beautiful private Quinta on the side of a mountain with amazing views of the Rio Alva and Serra da Estrella mountains.
I am a retired scientist, who did Diabetes research for 25 years. I also am a musician and play and record music. My band tours internationally as well. My wife is also retired. We are native English speakers but I (Ricardo) also speak Danish and some Portuguese. We love music, good food (we are both excellent cooks- Indian, New Mexican, Thai, etc.), and nice people. We are non-smokers and have two small dogs. We are not on the internet constantly and do not have smartphones so it might be a day or two for replies..Types of help and learning opportunities

There is always a lot of work to do on the 11,000m2 of land with alots of olive and madrunho trees!
Trim trees, burn small branches, fight the brambles

We have a private guest accommodation under out main house with two rooms, living room-kitchen and bathroom. One room has a double bed and the other has a single bed and bunk bead. We have internet. There is no TV downstairs but there is a stereo with CD player and cassette deck. Possibility to do laundry once a week. We have two dogs but they are not allowed downstairs, in the guest accommodation.
We will provide breakfast (juice, tea or coffee, cereal), lunch (bread, cold cuts, veggies, cheese), and dinner (usually some sort of ethnic food (indian, thai, New Mexican, cajan, Italian).
If you are into music, you will be in heaven here. We also have a professional music studio you can record some of your songs if you are a musician.
No smoking allowed inside.What else ...
We are only 10mins by car from the main town. There is a lot of great hiking paths here and nature in the area. There is a main bus station in town (Oliveira do Hospital) that can take you to the other local towns (Seia, Tábua) or even Lisboa, Coimbra, and Porto.
