Description
Hello, I am Tetyana and you are very welcome in my garden.
I welcome people who want to help out, enjoy physical activity, contribute their skills and abilities and ideally are handy. Many of my friends help out and I enjoy learning from interesting people.
I have been working in the Pemaculture Garden in Bajamar (Tenerife) for two years. The project was started four years ago by a family friend who put a lot of heart and soul into the project by planting beds, lombard culture, bringing chickens and planting different plants. Since I have been leading this project, I have been learning to apply the principles of permaculture, to live in symbiosis with nature and to create an edible forest. I am still at the very beginning of the project, so it is even more interesting to see how everything is developing from the very beginning.
The farm's products are grown for our own use, my vision is to create an edible forest.
My interests are reading, surfing, yoga, holistic health, ecological and sustainable gardening, living in harmony with nature and people and simply enjoying life.
Helpers have access to a tent with mattress and bedding in the covered part of the garden, a communal room with internet access, a communal kitchen with gas cooker and fridge, and communal toilet with shower.
I came to Tenerife from Germany 6 years ago and fell in love with the sea and surfing and Bajamar is a surfer's paradise for beginners and advanced surfers. The sandy beach and natural swimming pools are a 30 to 40 minute walk away. Bajamar is close to La Laguna (university town) and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (capital), where there are language schools and large shops. A bus runs there every 30 minutes, and the bus stop is 300 metres from the site.
From the neighbouring village of Punta del Hidalgo, hiking trails lead through the gorge and up into the evergreen laurel forest. So there is a wide range of leisure activities so that you can enjoy both nature and the city.Types of help and learning opportunities
