    Description

We are beachfront, with a surf spot right in front in a remote, off-grid location under the world's most biodiverse rainforest. We also have a native wellness center with a sweat lodge, cold plunge, etc. This sounds amazing, but it's also raw since it's a real experience in the rainforest.

You'll be stating in a "grassroots" nature retreat in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. We are just getting started sharing what we have learned over decades in this magical jungle known as the most biodiverse rainforest in the world.

My role is to be mother nature's teaching assistant. Guiding retreat participants to the right place at the right time with a perspective of life that's integrated, connected, and vertically and horizontally alive. Resulting in a deep natural feeling of connection. Which we believe is essential in the complex, mechanical modern human world.

We have good quality, simple infrastructure. The volunteer spaces are single-glamping bedrooms with shared bathrooms. As a center focused on spirituality, all journeys are individual. If you have a friend/couple, please apply separately.

Food is offered as part of the volunteer opportunity.

The Osa Peninsula is alive, totally off the grid. It's full of life. We are beachfront. People call it paradise. But it's real and raw. A spiritual experience, like it or not :).

The Osa Peninsula is a magical place alive in more ways than we realize. This area has so many qualities it's impossible to express them over text. Still, the area, all the living things, its beauty, spirit, whatever you want to call it - profoundly affects people.

These things are related to the essential aspects of life, the powerful stuff that transforms you. This is real nature at its prime, in a rainforest that wants to teach us about life. In a center that honors and is dedicated to learning and practicing nature-oriented spirituality.

Most people have not had contact with nature at this level of diversity. Or with its spirit in such a way. It has nothing to do with tourism, adventure, culture, or community. Nothing to do with what we eat, say, pray, wear, or think. All that is part of the human mind world.

Film, documentary, photography, and visual storytelling.

    • positive, grounded, human content

** If you are looking for short term, we are full or you are not as aligned with our needs/roles you can alternatively you can also join us as residents .

    Important orientation

We are looking for people who want to learn from nature and daily life here, support the space, and integrate into the community. This is not a place to bring external philosophies, belief systems, or spiritual frameworks and apply them to others especially when those practices come from cultures or territories that are not your own.

    Atmosphere & boundaries

Paz is a quiet, grounded space.

    This is not welcomed here:
    • spiritual competition or judgment
    • evangelization of belief systems
    • modern festival spirituality
    • party mentality
    • electronic music or nightlife atmosphere

This is not a monastery and we are not monks. We do share meals, BBQs, conversations, and moments of joy.
Occasional beers or wine may happen naturally, but excess is not the norm.

    Emotional responsibility

Because Paz is remote and low in distraction, things naturally surface.

    This requires:
    • emotional maturity
    • personal responsibility
    • clear communication
    • the ability to self-regulate

This is an advanced location in that sense — not intense, but honest.

We support one another without judgment, but each person is responsible for their own process.

    Who this is for

This space is for people who are:
    • at a moment of real life change
    • open to simplicity
    • comfortable with stillness
    • willing to participate in shared life

This is not a good fit if you are mainly looking for:
    • a free vacation
    • a short experience
    • constant stimulation
    • spiritual entertainment
    • a place to escape responsibility
