Description
The former Rehabilitation Center turns into a Rural Hub, an innovative social and agricultural space managed by Itaca association on a gratuitous loan. Four years ago the center was entrusted to a group of five girls and since then many thingh have changed. the community that support rural hub is growing day by day.
The place deals with local produces of saffron, one of the seven traditional products of Galatone. Is engaged in the recovery of an old variety of apricot. Produces hemp tea and othe medicinal hearb teas.
This is furthermore social innovation: plans and realizes youth exchangesprograms and European seminars; host parties, cultural and artistic events; Offers co-living experience for ones who wants to visit Salento.
It's a traing opportunity for youth; it's a gathering place that people like to call "a square surronded by the nature"; It's open minded to those who want to suggest and realize a new project.

Accommodation
We have a big house in countryside where is possible to stay and were we also host tourists.
In summer time it's possible that the workawayer will not have a private room, depending it it's busy with tourist. Anyway it's always possible to stay in the dormitory that rarely is busy with other people
We can offer our vegetables and a food storage full of dry food and pasta. The workawayes can use our kitchen
What else ...
volunteer will have the possibility to have bike to reach the near towns and spend the free time with the members of the association or have the opportunity to make different journey all over the area. The nearest beach is at 8 km and the biggest city at 25 km can be reached by train
