Description
Last minute opening for native speaker Level English - please read and also Check where we are (2 hours Trainride from Munich) Thanks
I founded my language camp after I came back from Tanzania, where I had been teaching kids English and at the same time learning a lot about how teaching English works. I now organise Outdoor Holiday Camps in Germany in the alps, where young kids (age 10 - 16) get the chance to practice and improve their English while going on small adventures in the mountains and the forest. We take the participants Rock climbing, on a treasure hunt, we visit a High Ropes course and we make our own movie - and all of it while inspiring the kids to speak as much English as possible -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You get the chance to work in the beautiful area of Southern Bavaria. Working closely with the participants they are usually very keen to teach you a lot about the German culture and also some useful phrases in German. As you will be working alongside an experienced outdoor instructor you will also gain some experience in outdoor education and language acquisition.
Food and Accommodation are free and we are also able to offer you 300 Euros for the week ( gross, on our payroll on a short term contract, the minmum wage of 13,90 per hour is being paid ) and a contribution towards your travel expenses.
You need to have a work permit or Visa, we can only help with UK nationalities and EU passport. Appologies for that but the paperwork for our short camps would be overwhelming otherwise. -

Help
Would you like to join our Englishcamp from the third of august for one week (2-8th of august)? We are looking for a language volunteer, who enjoys working with kids and spending time outdoors. Teaching experience is a plus but not required, as long as you feel confident managing a group of 12-15 year-olds alongside a qualified outdoor instructor. There is one more placement available just now due to a last minute cancellation.
Location: Bavarian Alps, in a youth hostel near Sonthofen, approximately 2.5 hours by train from Munich airport or 2 hours from Memmingen airport (Ryanair) or 3 hours from Zurich airport.
You will work with a group of up to 12 children alongside a qualified instructor, engaging in activities such as climbing and mountain excursions. We also visit a really fun high ropes course and we teach the kids bush craft skills. Please only apply if you are a Native English speaker or you have Native Speaker Level of spoken English. I am looking forward to hearing from you. -

If you interested in learning German, this is the place to be. You will get to pick up a lot of German everyday language in our camps. We also need you to speak Native speaker Level English though, so that the kids can learn from you. -
Accommodation
You will be staying in a youth hostel right at the bottom of the mountains. You will share a room with the other volunteers (2 volunteers) . It is a hostel room with your own bathroom.

What else ...
The Allgäu is a tourist hospot, there is mountains and beautiful lakes around my home.Meeting people from all over the world reminds me of my own travelling times - I have two kids now, so have stopped travellling for now. I still love learning about different cultures and people and workaway is a good place for that.

This was my first Workaway experience, I came in as a replacement language assistant at this summercamp and stayed for about a week.
Even though everything happened super last minute, Katrin was so communicative and open, letting me know everything I needed to know upfront and making sure that everything was in … read more
