    Description

I founded my language camp after I came back from Tanzania, where I had been teaching kids English and at the same time learning a lot about how teaching English works. I now organise Outdoor Holiday Camps in Germany in the alps, where young kids (age 10 - 16) get the chance to practice and improve their English while going on small adventures in the mountains and the forest. We take the participants Rock climbing, on a treasure hunt, we visit a High Ropes course and we make our own movie - and all of it while inspiring the kids to speak as much English as possible

You get the chance to work in the beautiful area of Southern Bavaria. Working closely with the participants they are usually very keen to teach you a lot about the German culture and also some useful phrases in German. As you will be working alongside an experienced outdoor instructor you will also gain some experience in outdoor education and language acquisition. A lot of our language assistants really appreciated the experience of our creative and playful method to teach English.
Food and Accommodation are free and we are also able to offer you 300 Euros for the week ( gross, on our payroll on a short term contract, the minmum wage of 13,90 per hour is being paid ) and a contribution towards your travel expenses.
You need to have a work permit or Visa, we can only help with UK nationalities and EU passport. Appologies for that but the paperwork for 2 weeks of camps would be overwhelming otherwise. As I run the company on my own I couldn't handle the extra research and workload.

Would you like to join our Englishcamp from the third of august for one week (2-14th of August)? We are looking for a female language instructor, who enjoys working with kids and spending time outdoors. Teaching experience is a plus but not required, as long as you feel confident managing a group of 12-15 year-olds alongside a qualified outdoor instructor. There is one more placement available just now.

Location: Bavarian Alps, in a youth hostel near Sonthofen, approximately 2.5 hours by train from Munich airport or 2 hours from Memmingen airport (Ryanair) or 3 hours from Zurich airport.

You will work with a group of up to 12 children alongside a qualified instructor, engaging in activities such as climbing and mountain excursions. We also visit a really fun high ropes course and we teach the kids bush craft skills. We also take them on a river walk in an ice-cold river near our hostel. This is a truly beautiful area, you'd be working in.

Your main responsibility is to motivate and inspire the kids to speak as much English as possible. Our Englisch camp is a residential camp, and we would appreciate your help with evening programs for the campers once or twice a week, as well as providing support to homesick kids.

Please only apply if you are a native English speaker or you have Native Speaker Level of spoken English. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

If you interested in learning German, this is the place to be. You will get to pick up a lot of German everyday language in our camps. We also need you to speak Native speaker Level English though, so that the kids can learn from you.

You will be staying in a youth hostel right at the bottom of the mountains. You will share a room with the other volunteers (2 volunteers) . It is a hostel room with your own bathroom. The team there provides a good choice of really yummie and regional food, they also cater for vegans and vegetarians.

Our area is not only magnificent but it also is a big playground if you like the outdoors. You can take off on multiple day hikes from hut to hut or just go for a leisurely cycle along the river Iller - you could also follow it on a multiday trip to Augsburg.
In the summer you can also go swimming or go on a SUP in one of the beautiful lakes around my home. People who come to my camp are also invited to stay at my family home to explore the area as long as they want. People that worked with us before really enjoyed working at the camp and usually keep coming back. Meeting people from all over the world reminds me of my own travelling times - I have two kids now, so have stopped travellling for now. I still love learning about different cultures and people and workaway is a good place for that.
