We stayed with Roger and Francesca for 2 weeks in April and had a great time. They're both lovely people - we learnt lots of interesting things from them and heard entertaining stories.
The location is great. It feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by forest, but Pegli is only a half an hour walk or so away and from there it's

The workaway house was nice and cosy. It was chilly when we were there, but there was a little stove we could huddle by
The food was always good, and we got to eat lots of cake!!!
The work was varied and interesting. We were given achievable tasks (e.g, putting in gates, building a fence) which were satisfying to complete - although sometimes took some trial and error on our part! Sometimes, we'd work alone and sometimes with the hosts.
There was a good balance between work time and free time, and we felt that our privacy was respected.
On the last day they took us to visit a special church nearby which was really fun
Also, Mav, the cat, was a delight, and we miss her loud miaows (and of course, we loved the donkeys too!!)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I spent two weeks with francesca and roger in their little paradise. The valley and place is gorgeous and feels so wild, yet theres trails to walk to the beach and city, a real contrast that i enjoyed! I shared a cosy little home with another workawayer which was fun. The river flows close by and you can hear it from bed :) it also has many pools

We spent an amazing month with Francesca and Roger in July. I was there with my partner and we feel lucky for this being our first workaway experience together. The work is usually from 9-1, which is great because we could have proper free time in the afternoon/evening. The jobs we did were very diverse, gardening, taking care of the 2 donkeys and

For us it was great this way as every day brought something new and fun. Usually we were working together either with other volunteers or with the hosts, which feels much nicer than doing something alone.
We were given a room in the house and it was perfect. Most of the time Francesca cooked for us all and we could try all the great Ligurian cuisine. The valleys around their house with the forest and the little rivers are wonderful, the city is not so far and you can quickly get to Genova by train from there too, or visit other places along the coast.
We will be forever grateful to Francesca and Roger for this experience, for the conversations and fun we had, the knowledge they shared with us, it could not have been any better for us, thank you!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
