    Description

    Hi, I'm Dave

I'm just starting out so I need help in developing the infrastructure of an organic, sustainable farm. Anyone with any level of experience in sustainable farming and creating an organic farm is welcome to come. Stay as long or as short as you like, but please come to help my farm make a difference in our rural community and the world today.

We are is just 40 minutes from the Sequoia National Park where our planet's oldest trees can be found. Drive into Kings Canyon and you'll be in a gorge 2000 feet deeper than the Grand Canyon. It's a scenic 1.5 hour drive to Yosemite. And if you're feeling hot, just grab a tube tire & float down the Kings River! There's lots to do on your days off around here. We have happy, friendly dogs on the farm who follow out into the fields every chance they get. Please join us to help me get the farm to a great start. Living Free, Dave (760) 675-9165

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Most all our residents in this farm town are Mexican/Latino and Spanish is, of course, the primary language. If you want to improve your English and/or Spanish-speaking skills, Manyhands Farm is the ideal place. Learn what it's like to be a farmer & agricultural worker in the U.S. & California's Central Valley by meeting and getting to know us & our local residents.

I need enthusiastic, hardworking people who want to help get a farm off-the-ground. Join me as I take the first steps in getting my farm going! Don't have any experience in sustainable agriculture or organic farming practices? No worries - we'll learn together.

If you like walking up at the crack of dawn to help lay-out irrigation ditches, building fences, planting trees, creating open-fields of vegetables, getting into the mechanics of keeping an old tractor going and building a tractor shed from recycled wood then my farm is the place to come to.

    What else ...

Our Farm is located within easy driving distance from 3 national parks, including Yosemite , Kings Canyon and Sequoia. There's lots of hiking trails, caves & caverns to explore and wildlife to see. Kings Canyon & Sequoia are less crowded than Yosemite so camping sites are more easily available. On hot summer days, people here enjoy tubing down the Kings River or going to Lake Kaweah. Tulare County offers a transit system to the bigger cities of Visalia and Fresno where shuttle buses take you to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks.
