Be part of the hostel family! We are a small, super cozy hostel - a real home away from home- and we want you to become part of our family! We have 14 dorm beds and 10 double tents for a total of 34 people. We have a beautiful garden with hammocks and a slackline, a well-equipped communal kitchen, daily breakfast included, hot showers, wifi, book exchange and even netflix for those lazy days. We want to share this islands beautiful vibe with you and make sure you only get to know the very best of it. We are a small, young very friendly and happy team and you will definitely feel welcomed and at home with us.

We are a small team and hostel and the vibe is very easygoing and familiar. You will feel at home instantly. We will ensure that we share the best kept secrets and local spots with our volunteers making them feel like a local on the island very soon. You can profit from reduced rates for tours as well.
The person will have all duties of a receptionist and work 5 hours daily, 6 times a week. It is necessary to speak both English and Spanish and to be able to answer emails in both languages. We also require you to have worked in reception or a similar job before.
- Check-in/out of guests- Answer emails
- Charge guests, and pay providers (in charge of the till)
- Make reservations in systems
- Show guests the hostel
- Answer telephone calls and facebook requests
- Make the breakfast- Rent bikes, sell tours and transfers
- Explain map to clients- Clean the hostel
The person can gain comissions from tours sold.

If you are a motivated and outgoing individual that speaks fluent English and preferably at least conversational spanish you are what we are looking for. We need someone to organize and lead our weekly hostel activities.
- Write weekly activities calendar and daily chalk board
- Inform and motivate people to take part
- Coordinate activites with other hostels taking part (max. Nr. Of people etc.)
- Take people to beach, walk on sandbanks, visit animal shelter, organize jenga night etc.
- Aditional activity: Take people to the bioluminesence at night ( you can earn comission on this tour)
The minimum stay for this vacancy is 1 month.
We always need someone to help us clean in the afternoons after our cleaner is gone as well as who does the daily shopping for the hostel. The toilets and showers need constant cleaning as well as the kitchen and common areas of the hostel. As we live on an island the house and porch gets full of sand all the time so constant sweeping is needed.
Other tasks include:
- Rake the garden three times a week
- Help in the laundry (wash, fold)
- Go for the shopping of the hostel
- Help with check-ins
- Show people the hostel
- General help in the hostel
The minimum stay for this vacancy is 2 weeks.
We can offer you a private tent including air mattress and sheets and pillow that we will wash for you when desired. You will have this tent to yourself. You have a complete daily breakfast included that consists of coffee (not instant), bread butter and marmelade, cereal and two eggs that you can cook the way you prefer. You can also use our kitchen for your other meals and we will wash your clothes for free.
In your free time you can enjoy reading in our hammocks, try the slackline, explore the island by bike, walk on the sand banks to Punta Mosquito, spend the day on the beach at Punta Cocos, visit the animal shelter and walk one of their dogs, dance the night away in one of the cool bars etc. etc.

We have electricity plugs throughout the hostel and even on the table in the garden outside. The internet connection on Holbox is generally very week but we installed the best available service there is on the island.
This host has said they are willing to accept those travelling with a pet.
