Please apply if you have the following skills: carpentry, building, stone work.

We will have openings again starting March 2016.

We have accommodation next to the ocean, kayaking and sauna available.

We are a slowly expanding organic farm with ocean front property. We have organic vegetables, mushrooms, flowers, herbs, berries and an orchard. We are expanding the gardens slowly as we are able. We are integrating permaculturue into our gardens.

We have a sauna by the beach, a bike to tour around and kayaks for exploring.

We have a sauna by the beach, a bike to tour around and kayaks for exploring.

In the summer we can see dolphins and porpoises from our cabin and on the other side of the island we often see killer whales. We also frequently see deer, mink, otters, eagles and other small animals.

The village and Malcolm Island have a very fascinating Finish heritage, museum, coffee shop, bakery, hiking, fishing. Near-by Alert Bay (a ferry ride away) has the Namgis First Nations village with a great museum and cultural activities in the summer.

SPRING/SUMMER PROJECTS: we are currently working on finishing a guest house, roofing, expanding the garden, building more raised beds, weeding and planting.

To get to our place you travel North on Vancouver Island (Hwy 19) to Port McNeill. From Port McNeill you take a 25 minute ferry to Malcolm Island. We are 5km from the ferry terminal. There is bus service to Port McNeill from Victoria and Nanaimo. It is about a 15 minute walk from the bus drop off to the ferry terminal. We can pick you up at the ferry. Often we are able to arrange to pick you up either in Nanaimo or Victoria depending on our travel schedule.
