Help with garden projects and experience outdoor fun and meaningful connections in Golden, Canada.
I'm in my 30's and live on an acreage on the side of a mountain 15 minutes south of Golden BC. My partner and I became care takers of the land in Sept 2023 and it's been an adventure since! I love being outside and playing in the mountains, whether it's climbing, skiing, exploring, or just soaking in the natural beauty in a body of water. I work in the non-profit sector, focusing on community development, which is really fulfilling for me.
Life here is pretty wild . We have 2 kitties that live in the home and roam the property! We are down to 1 chicken now….. Despite that, I still find a lot of joy in this place and I'm working on making it even better. I value balance in life, and our mountain home is a big part of that for me.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
I'm looking for Workawayers to help build some infrastructure on the property, such as a wood shed. If you enjoy being in nature and working on hands-on projects, you'll probably love it here as much as I do.
Other duties would include lawn maintenance (gardening, weeding, cutting grass, etc.), clearing brush from the water line and harvesting!
We're looking for hard working folks who equally enjoy play and laughter.Languages

English: Fluent
Spanish: IntermediateThis host offers a language exchange
I'm ready to advance my Spanish language skills! I've been working on Duolingo for over a year but it's not the same as human connection and real language exchange!Accommodation
You'll share the main home with my partner and I.
We'll buy groceries for our workawayers to enjoy breakfast and dinners. Lunches and snacks are the responsibility of the workawayers. Fresh eggs (if we have chickens left!) and anything from the garden will be available to you at any time. Meals will be shared sometimes: sometimes we'll make dinner or lunches, sometimes we'll ask for the Workawayers to contribute meals, and sometimes we'll eat separately. We'll decide this as we flow through our days! We'll also discuss this at the beginning of your stay to meet the needs of all parties since each helper will be different. What else ...
We live 15 minutes south of Golden. There are two options to get to Golden (bus or pop-a-ride), and we can pick you up from there. Once you're on our property, and you don't have a car, the options to get back into town are with us when we go or you can bike (it's a big one - 1 hour or so depending on your fitness).
