Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The most valuable exchange is going to be reconnecting with yourself in nature. The farm has very little noise pollution and truly has an environment where you can engage with the land, the river, the earth, the birds, the plants and more. The indigenous Taino people of Puerto Rico understood the true connection gift that the land provided and the foundation of that appreciation is what you'll have the ability to learn.
It's not always in a busy hostel-like environment that you'll create your life-changing memories. If you're open to quiet time to reflect, then this may be a good fit for you.
Regarding Puerto Rico itself. Puerto Rico is a vibrant island rich in history and culture, offering endless opportunities for exploration all within an hour and half from the finca itself. From the indigenous Taino people to the settlers and stewards of the land, there’s much to learn.
Additionally, the finca welcomes travelers from around the world and hosts wellness retreats and educational workshops that sometimes coincide with your stay.Host offers payment in line with the minimum wage

Help
We're building eco-friendly living spaces, all nestled in one of the most stunning natural environments. We’re seeking like-minded, active individuals who are skilled in building and want to experience the tranquility of the mountains while contributing to meaningful work. Some specific skill sets we are looking for are: general construction, carpentry, plumbing and electrical, environmental design, permaculture, and farming.
We offer wages beginning at $11 / hour and going up depending on the job and experience of the Workawayer.
If you have experience in permaculture, gardening, construction, and eco-sustainability, we’d love to incorporate your knowledge and expertise. Additionally, skills in yoga, meditation, massage, jiu-jitsu, and any other knowledge or skill that promotes health and wellness are always a plus!
Our goal is to hold optional skill-sharing sessions in the afternoons, so any tools or supplies related to your hobbies and interests that you're open to sharing, be sure to bring them!
Our work days are flexible, and we organize the people and skill sets and interest groups according to the tasks at hand and hands on the farm.
An ideal Workawayer is someone who embodies respect, responsibility, and a passion for outdoor work and learning. You’re punctual, tidy, and take initiative. You thrive in an outdoor environment and enjoy expanding your skills while contributing to a positive and collaborative community. You understand the value of time, privacy, and respect for others and our shared space.
We currently have several exciting projects in progress, and extra hands would be greatly appreciated. While skills are important, we place a high value on attitude, energy, and mindset. If you bring a good vibe, enjoy working together, and respect the space, we’d love to welcome you to our team. The weather may change, from rainy to warm or hot, but the relaxed atmosphere remains constant.Languages

We offer a variety of accommodations, ranging from camping options to shared and private rooms, based on availability.
Feel free to make use of our communal kitchen, where you can prepare other food at your own pace. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove, oven, utensils, and running water, and we provide staples like basic spices and olive oil that you are welcome to use for your cooking as well. For your convenience, there are also shower and toilet facilities on-site.
For laundry, shared washers and dryers are available on a schedule. Please bring your preferred detergent / softener.
Please note that some areas of the property lack internet and cell reception, but remember, we offer fast Wi-Fi in the communal areas. While there are numerous tranquil spots to relax, the internet and cell service doesn't reach everywhere.
The pace here is slow and intentional. Whether you're reading, meditating, or simply soaking in the beauty of the jungle, the focus is on disconnecting and embracing the peaceful atmosphere. Occasionally, we offer excursions to nearby areas or skill-sharing sessions, but for the most part, it's about enjoying the soothing sounds of waterfalls, birds, and the Coquí.What else ...
We are currently expanding and always looking to create self-sustaining community focused on food, efficient use of resources, farming, digging trenches and more. It’s hard work, and we’re grateful for your involvement. While we’re selective in inviting long-term members, we occasionally extend opportunities to those aligned with our vision. Despite challenges, we’re already seeing the fruits of our collective effort.
We invite you to explore the area, “Go To Ciales” is a great resource for information on the surrounding region. Thank you, and we look forward to meeting you!A little more information
