    Description

COVID UPDATE: We do take Covid seriously. We have all been vaccinated with the boosters and we will require proof of at least the vaccination from anyone staying in any capacity.

We are a family with a dog living in a home in a quiet neighborhood 1 mile from the Indian River. (a basin behind the barrier islands on the Atlantic Ocean) Tucked up around the Turkey Creek Sanctuary.
We moved back home to catch up on home repairs, updates, and maintenance needed. We are doing this with a mindset of recycling, reusing, and repurposing, with a small reliance on Home Depot. We have 2 properties and need some help!

The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a living room/office space that can be closed off from most of the house and a living area in the garage with the laundry room.
Here are some projects on the list, pick your favorite! :)
Kitchen counter replacement and bathroom remodels, family meals, home chores, spring cleaning and organization, 2 small, empty garden beds, starting the herb garden, and the landscaping and yard work are ALWAYS ON-GOING. We have a pool area (professionally taken care of weekly ), and a backyard that are in need of some CREATIVE/DECOR LOVE! Catching and recycling water has been left semi-abandoned.

I spend a lot of my outside time trying to keep ahead of the parcel getting overgrown. Our long-term goal is to have energy-saving, food-producing, environmentally beneficial, and native landscaping with VERY little help from us.
Right now, that is just the vision of our dream :)

We also have a trailer 3 miles from the front door of the house. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath that we bought as a fixer-upper in March 2020...and then Covid shut the World down, and now is now with the workforce/shipping issues.
We have managed to get it to the finish/trim work for the most part.

Pictures are a mixture of house and trailer. We use both spaces to house our volunteers, just depends on what life
hands us at any given moment. But, work is at both places.

The ultimate goal would be to have a self-sustaining parcel, full of food-producing, water-conserving, shade-sitting space to relax, eat and enjoy life under a tree. A spot where the bees, butterflies, and local critters can live and thrive!
The short-term goal is the work it takes to get there. Food is provided, but we do not do any of the cooking. (yes, we will sincerely and graciously take help with that :)

We are LGBTQ & BLM allies. Although no one living in the house is a member of the community we are STRONG advocates!
We would love to be a host of like-minded people in our corner of the World. We believe we are One Human Family sharing One Planet. And this seems like a WIN-WIN-WIN! You, us, and our beautiful historical environment! Think Global, Act Local.
We are on what they call the Space Coast of Florida. To date, every workawayer has been able to watch a rocket launch from our front yard!
Visit Kennedy Space Museum, or St. Augustine, the oldest CITY in the United State of America, just 2 hours away. Or, Tampa and the white beaches of the Gulf of Mexico are also 2 hours away. Have breakfast and a swim in the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast of FL with the surfers and have lunch and a swim in the Gulf of Mexico, beachcombing the white sands for treasures on the west coast of Florida! And still, be home for a kayak ride and dinner!!

Orlando and Disney are just an hour away while Miami and the islands of the Florida Keys (Key West!!) southernmost point in the continental USA just 6 hours away!!

Looking forward to trading stories, and culture!!

I hope my years of growing up on a Michigan farm and then living in Central and South Florida with 10 years living on a boat full time. (i am still on the boat part time) will contribute to an interesting conversation and that the corner of the world I occupy is of interest to those interested in traveling.

Gardening, finishing the path, and the abandoned water collection are the outside priorities.
I have small and large construction and trim work to be completed.
And of course, we will take help with cooking and cleaning, if that's your thing!
I have something for everyone! LOL
