    Description

I recently bought a little 2 bedroom house in Puerto Escondido. I could use some help making the place a little more interesting. I work from home, so I don’t necessarily have the time or skills to do the things I want to. I specifically would like to have someone paint the interior walls in my house. And there are a few handy projects I have that I need to get done. My Spanish is okay, but I could also use help talking to local tradespeople and artisans to make some things for my house.

    About Me:
I discovered Puerto Escondido in 2020 and fell in love with it. I am a web developer and a graphic designer for a design studio in Chicago, Illinois, USA, where I live part of the year. The other part of the year I live here in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. I'm a vegetarian, I like to stay active, I'm not a huge drinker, but I'm pretty social. I can tell you where all the best places in to go in town to really soak in this beautiful beach town. Oh, and I'm a gay man, so you need to be enthusiastically cool about that.

Because I live in a local neighborhood, when you are here, you will be able to immerse yourself with the local culture, yet still have easy access to the tourist zones of Puerto Escondido. I am not far from the beach, but away from the party in the tourist zones. So it's quiet when you want to sleep, but conveniently located for easy getting around the city. I am just north of the Rinconada tourist area. The open air food market is about a 15 minute walk from my house, best place to buy your food. It's a quiet, relaxing area. I love it here, and you will too!

I wouldn't provide food, but you can fully use the kitchen for cooking and keeping food here at the house. I can also share with you my process of opening a business and purchasing property here in Oaxaca as a foreigner. There are many things I wish I would have known when I started the whole process.

If you are a native Spanish speaker and you want to work on your English, this could be a great opportunity also because you can practice your English with me. Or, maybe you're learning Spanish like me, then we could work on our Spanish together.

While you are here, I will be the other person living in the house. I work online during the weekdays, but I would be happy to show you around, direct you to the best spots, and/or let you be as independent as you want while you are here. I love meeting new people and I would love to share the highlights of Puerto Escondido with you. There are also a lot of other travelers in Puerto Escondido, so you will have the opportunity to meet many other people on similar journeys as yourself.

The beach that is closest to my house is named Playa Carrizalillo...look it up, its the most beautiful beach I have ever experienced. There is also surfing, a Bio-luminescent Bay, baby sea turtle releases, amazing sunsets, yoga, gyms, fresh Oaxacan food, great DJs, movies on the beach, and much more I can show you. The first time my mom visited me, she said it the the most relaxing vacation she has even been on in her entire life. Get ready to relax and take it easy while you are here.
