Description
I have a lovely organic garden in the heart of downtown Vancouver and care for my mum and nephew. They are very capable so it’s more like going for a walk with them or playing video games or cooking together. We live in the gorgeous West End and Yaletown neighbourhoods of downtown Vancouver and I’m only a 30-second walk to the beach and a 3-minute walk to the world-famous Stanley Park. My mum and nephew live in Yaletown and I’m in the West End. The two neighbourhoods are adjacent and it’s a 20 minute walk along the spectacular seawall to their place from mine, and vice-versa. For reasons why this is probably the best neighbourhood in downtown Vancouver, you can ask us for the link to the article. The article is called, “ Why the West End is the best neighbourhood in all of Vancouver” and you can find it on DailyHive.
We usually wind down starting 10 pm and have lights out and quiet time starting around 11 pm at the latest. Breakfast will be served between 7:30 and 8:30 am. Lunch is usually between 12 noon and 1 pm, and dinner is served around 5:30-6:30 pm. Sometimes we only prepare two meals per day if people aren’t hungry.
For February 2025 to May 2025, I only have shared spaces currently. My mum and nephew are currently in Taiwan so it’s just me and other WAers in Vancouver and Whistler. I probably won’t need any new WAers until March 2025 at the earliest.
Please be mindful that unlike WA in rural areas, space is at a premium in urban areas so kindly be aware of how much space and privacy you need for your mental and physical wellbeing and comfort.
Because the city is so beautiful, we want to encourage WAers to go sightseeing instead of just staying the whole day at home, we encourage WAers to take at least 2 hours in the afternoon or at least 1.5 hours in the evenings during the sunny months of June, July and August to explore the city instead of just staying at home the whole time.
Because I have so many requests, please let me know in your first message the following:
Please send me a list of your expectations for the WA and what you would like to experience during your stay with me and my family and in the beautiful city of Vancouver and its surrounding areas of Squamish, Whistler and Vancouver Island.
And list how many hours of help you would be able to provide, what you would prefer to do, and provide a general schedule of your days while in Vancouver. Doesn’t have to be set in stone, but so I have an idea of how to accommodate your needs.
Do you mind sharing a room with another WAer? How tidy and organized are you?
Would be helpful to know of your dietary needs, restrictions or allergies also. Feel free to let me know what are your favourite dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I don’t mind if you’re vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore, and I can eat meat or just vegetarian food. I probably cannot accommodate omnivores with vegans or the other way around. It’s just too much work for me to cook separate dishes.
When doing a job, what are the 5 most important qualities you try to achieve or that you pay attention to? (There is no right or wrong answer so don’t overthink it).
We would appreciate stays of at least 1 month though exceptions can be made. I usually find 2 to 3 month stays to work best because it takes time to train someone and for my mum and nephew to connect with you. Also, for the Winter months (i.e. from November until April/May), I could use WAers in Whistler, BC in case anyone wants to do a ski season at Whistler or Cypress.
Thanks for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to Supernatural British Columbia and our family!Types of help and learning opportunities

You can learn about Asian foods and culture and organic gardening and how to open your consciousness through microdosing or yoga and positive communication or cognitive behavioural rewiring.
Help
There are so many projects you can help with in exchange for food and accommodation. You can help by working out in the downstairs gym with my family, play video games with my nephew, go play basketball or tennis, make a succulent planter or terrarium, cook and prep foods together, make electronic music, gardening etc.
