Description
This is a Vocational High School. It was founded in 1987 by Dr. Silahudin MA, father of the actual Principal.
The purpose of the creation of this vocational school was to teach children improve and develop their skills and gain experience while learning civic and human rights. This way, we try to give them the proper education to go through school and graduation, while building their path for their future and University.
Most of the students are from Sukabumi, but we have 35 who are living in the school, but in total we have a number of 800 of children registered in the school.
In this sense, the goal of the school is to achieve education for everyone, and so, over half of our students enjoy free accommodation and instruction, those involve children who have no economic means to get education.
As a vocational school we have a range of courses focus on professional skills and art, that is increasing through the years and with staff and volunteer support.
When the school was founded, we started with a Marketing course that followed more artistic and creative courses to give more opportunities for the children's future.
By now, we are proud to had completed up to six programmes and others coming up, giving the financial difficulties and the professional limitations.
At the moment, we are teaching fashion and design, animation and acting, music, singing and dancing arts, automotive and culinary art.
Our goal is to increase this number and to implement language programmes, even we already have English and German teachers, but it's still not very structured. We also want to promote civic and human rights, to give them a better knowledge of the world, cultures and society, so they are more tolerant, as main values of their education.
Also, we aim to rise them in a more international environment so they can absorb other ways of life and habits and have a better approach of the outside and be able to practice other languages and wide their knowledge.
That's the reason why we have started our volunteer (or intern) programme, to encourage people from all over the world to come and help the children and our staff to implement more programmes and continue to lead children through a better future.

Volunteers have the oppotunity to live with the students and exchange culture and learn Indonesian. They will get to know the Island and the way of life in the country from inside, listening to the children and working together with the stuff. It will be a very positive experience.

Help
Volunteers are part of the family, you are not a stranger coming to help with local people, you are living with the children, with the staff and with the principle's family inside the school. You will be eating with us and sharing your culture and life experience, while getting a better and inside perspective of Indonesia ad Muslim culture.
We are totally open-minded and very flexible, since we understand that you would like to explore the country and the island. Indeed, our staff is always happy to drive you and show you around, they organize field trips during our free time, and welcome you to their homes to show you how we live here.
We also are very open to let you organize activities for the children outside their school hours and always welcome for ideas to help us improve our education system and our programmes.
So if you have any skill; you are a good basketball player, you love playing guitar, you do acrobats, or you are just very motivated to help those children get a better life and education, please don't hesitate to contact us. Your work can be more technical according to your skills. If you have skills in computering, engineering or communication, you can for instance improve the process of getting volunteers or the method of work. All knowledges are welcomed !
We provide you free accommodation and three meals, while giving you all sort of opportunities to explore the country.
We are really looking forward to hear from you and to learn from you. We don't ask for any experience, but we are truly concern of having people concern with the situation and very motivated to help us to be better, so when you contact us, we would ask you to read about us, first.
About the time you want to volunteer, our school is flexible, but we ask a minimum of three weeks, longer is of course preferred, we just want you to feel comfortable and part of our family.
