    Description

    Hello workawayers.
    We are a Christian registered non governmental organization headquartered in Iganga district in Eastern Uganda.
    we operate a community church and schools within Iganga district close to Jinja city. For many years in operation, we have been able to bring great smiles to the people of Iganga and other neighboring communities by preaching the gospel, training women in arts and crafts, educating children and skills training for the youth.
    Am a pastor and married with children, working to spread the message of compassion, gospel and many others.
    We are delighted to host volunteers to come and help us with the number of activities that we have on ground.
    We are really looking forward to hearing from you.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Our guests will enjoy interacting with the community members coming from different tribes and speaking different languages. The volunteers will learn new languages, new ways of living locally and associating differently with the community members. Volunteers will also use their spare time to visit around the magnificent places of tourist attraction, national game parks and other places of interest like mountains.

    We are working on a number of projects and we need a great hand to assist us in our daily operations. we need help with the following activities;
    1. We need help with editing, proof reading grant applications for submission to foundations and donors for funding.
    2. We need help with teaching our students English, Maths, Science and foreign languages as some students want to be linguists.
    3. Training soccer with the children in the community.
    4. For volunteers interested in preaching the gospel, please you are also welcome to our NGO.
    5. Training the communities in different skills like art project and other income generating skills for sustainability.

  • Accommodation

    We have two types of accommodation. One is by staying at the volunteers house and the other is by staying with us (the host) in the same house. Local foods are served daily, ie, matooke, rice, posho made out of corn, beans, rice, yams and many other during breakfast, lunch and dinner which will be provided on a timely basis and there is a guaranteed security in the community so volunteers security in the community is guaranteed.

    Helpers can do a number of activities during their free time. Volunteers will visit Local national parks, water falls, camping at the mountains and Gorilla trekking at the nearest places. Volunteers will adapt to new styles of transportation like using scooters, Boda Bodas for ground transport plus local public means and transport fares are relatively good.
