Description
Hello, we are a Colombian family with a traditional finca/farm in the countryside. Our place is an innovative tourism project for those who love birding, coffee and nature experiences. The place is located in the Sumapaz Canyon, near Venecia, Cundinamarca, about 3 hours from Bogotá. We are surrounded by lush mountain vegetation, coffee flavors, plantations, and an incredible variety of Colombian birds. We hope to share our place, our love for nature and birds, and a little piece of Colombia with people from around the world.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
There's various plantations, tours, and activities around the area, sometimes we hang out to those places to socialize. Also, it would be great to practice several languages.
We can teach volunteers how to prepare food for birds, how to prepare the place for a bird to eat, and how to use nature resources to improve birding experiences. We can also teach some history about Colombian coffee in our region. We also like to teach our Spanish words to the volunteer and that the volunteer teach us some words too. We like having meals together to chat a little bit. -
Help
We are looking for volunteers who enjoy nature, outdoor activities, rural life, and cultural exchange. Volunteers can help us with feeding the birds, gardening, maintenance of the farm, preparing spaces for guests, and helping with guest activities and tours, all while experiencing the authentic Colombian countryside. We also welcome creative ideas and any expertise you can bring!

Accommodation
We can provide a clean and secure space to sleep with proper bedding. We are surrounded by mountains, birds and the unique identity of the Colombian countryside. We provide traditional home-cooked meals, and if you want to bring and cook your own recipe, we would love to try it too!
For one volunteer, we provide a private room. For two volunteers, we provide a shared room. -
What else ...
There's plenty of nature around if you like outdoor activities, walking in the mountain or swimming in the river. Also, there are three-wheelers that can take you to the small town of Venecia in about 15 minutes. There are various touristic attractions around the town to enjoy, including an impressive 120 meter waterfall, a viewpoint, horse riding, and tasting coffee flavors from the region.

Space for parking camper vans
We are on a rural road, and you need to descend around 300 m down the road, so, it would be good that the camper is high enough to deal with it. Recently, the road was improved, so the road is mostly leveled.
