    🌿 Our Home & Life

We live in a small and charming town in Belgium called Maaseik, just 6 km from the Netherlands and 12 km from Germany.

Our home is no longer a renovation project — it has grown into our dream place. After years of building and creating, it is now a small paradise where we live surrounded by nature, peace and space.

The garden feels like a little forest, full of fruit trees, vegetables and herbs that we use in our daily life. We also keep chickens for fresh eggs (and sometimes meat).

In the middle of the garden, we have created a beautiful and comfortable guest house. This will be your private space during your stay — a quiet and green place with everything you need.
We also built an outdoor kitchen where we cook, eat and spend time together, especially on warm days.

    🧑‍🤝‍🧑 About Us

My name is Marijn. I’m a massage therapist, artist (writing and painting), and I also work in hospitality as a chef and bartender. My schedule changes often, but I spend a lot of time at home working on the garden, small projects or creative ideas.

My partner works full-time and is away from early morning until evening, so we keep a calm and respectful rhythm in the house, especially at night.

We are a gay couple, open-minded, grounded and easy-going. Our home is a safe and welcoming place where people can be themselves.

We share our life with 2 dogs and 3 cats — all friendly, playful and part of the family.

🛠️ Help We Are Looking For

Even though most of the big work is done, there is always something to do in and around the house.

We mostly look for help with:

Gardening (weeding, planting, harvesting, maintaining beds)
Taking care of our animals (dogs, cats and chickens)
    Small building or improvement projects
Keeping the outdoor spaces clean and beautiful
Helping with computer or online tasks (website, social media, simple digital things)

We like people who enjoy working with their hands, but also appreciate digital skills — a nice balance works really well here.

I personally enjoy working together, side by side. When I’m at home, we often work a bit longer and really get things done — sometimes more than 4 hours, but always in a relaxed and natural flow.

When I’m not around, there is no pressure. You can take it easy, enjoy the space, or do small tasks at your own rhythm.

For us, it’s not about strict schedules, but about balance, mutual respect and enjoying the process together.

    🏡 What We Offer

You will stay in our guest house in the garden — your own private and peaceful place.

    It includes:

Comfortable sleeping space (up to 3 people)
Private bathroom with hot shower and toilet
    Towels and bed linen
    Tea and coffee facilities
    Desk and chair
    Fast WiFi

    You also have access to:

The main house (kitchen, washing machine, living area) during the day
The outdoor kitchen, garden, lounge areas and sun deck

Food is an important part of life here. We provide fresh, healthy meals — often using ingredients from our own garden.
We are not vegetarian, but we are happy to adapt to dietary needs.

    🌍 Free Time & Surroundings

In your free time, you can enjoy the peaceful garden, go for walks or bike rides, or explore the area.

Because we are close to both the Netherlands and Germany, there are many nice places to visit nearby.

Sometimes we go out for a drink, visit local spots or do groceries across the border — you are always welcome to join.

✨ We are looking for open-minded, easy-going people who enjoy nature, working with their hands, and being part of a relaxed and real home environment.
