    Description

Hi! We are a family of seven living on 22 acres of trees with a beautiful view of lake Huron. We have 4 young boys between the ages of 1 and 10 and grandma living on site too. Our goal for 2018 is to create a trail system throughout our property, create and maintain gardens using permaculture practices, and a few building projects. Eventually we would like to run an off grid eco resort and make our large pond safe to swim in.
We try to live a simple life and become self sufficient whenever possible. With young kids we spend quiet nights at home. We love having campfires in the evening and hiking on our land. We enjoy healthy food and eating dinners together. We would recommend workawayers to like children to fully enjoy their stay.
We are looking for help from the end of May to the end of September.

Spending time on beautiful Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario Canada gives you the chance to explore the great outdoors. You will get a chance to swim in the cleanest lakes, hike beautiful trails, see the famous Kagawong falls, cut fire wood, roast marshmallows by the campfire, get up and close with the wildlife and camping while being one with nature.

Most of what we are looking for is labour. Cutting or carrying wood, clearing trails, gardening, spreading stones and gravel along the trails. We are also looking for workawayers with skills in construction. We will be building small bunkies and decks.

    Accommodation

Workawayers will begin their stay in tents then have the option to sleep in a bunkie once built. Our bathroom and kitchen will be available for workawayers to use. There will also be an outhouse to be built. We will have a rotating cooking schedule for dinners. We have a small kitchen and a lot of people. I expect workeawayers to be mindful and respect our home and space.

We live 5 minute drive to the closest small town where you can buy all your necessities. We own three vehicles, so workawayers may have the option to use one at times.
