    Description

    ABOUT ME:
I'm David, after 7 years in the big city, I decided to move back to where I grew up to open my own berries farm.
We grow raspberries and blackberries, which are relatively unique and rare in Israel. Since the farm is still small and intimate, it's a great place for workaway volunteers to take initiatives, learn about sustainable agricultural practices and promote ecological projects.

    ABOUT THE FARM:
I opened the farm in 2016 and we have been using organic cultivation methods. This farm is my (and yours!) home! I had the pleasure of spending time with volunteers from all walks of life who came with the purpose of experiencing the ultimate farm life. Volunteers that arrive here enjoy working with me for the purpose of creating an independent and self-sustaining farm for future volunteers and friends. We dedicate ourselves to work so that we can fully enjoy what this place has to offer when work is over.

We have one large Net house and 2 additional smaller ones that were added late 2018. All net houses host beautiful varieties of berries of all kinds.
On top of the "usual" maintenance of the different tasks of berries cultivation, we have completed, on-going and future projects for forest gardening, structures made of wood and mud (almost completed!), hydroponics, and so on.

What does this place have to offer?
First and foremost - great people and great atmosphere. We cook together, work together and spend time together. We can sit around the stove during the winter or take a nap/ read abook on one of the hamocks under trees during the summer. There's a place for everyone with a good will.

The farm is surrounded by a nature reserve - rocky hills and lush Mediterranean scenery. There are many beautiful walking paths and easy access to the Burma road - the old dirt way which leads to Jerusalem. The area surrounding the farm is fascinating...old wrecked houses, natural pool (in the making) for hot summer days and all sorts of unique flora and fauna.
we also have a large solar shed, a small hen house, a beautiful orchard, five dogs and a donkey named Momo. Oh, and great neighbors.

Sleeping arrangments are varied. You will have several options:
    1. outdoor camping
    2. Neat and huge Ex-military tent (with beds, mattresses, and ac)
    3. A private wooden cabin in the "main" area
    4. A shared room .
    5. Cob (mud) cabin gallery

How do we maintain the farm?
We rely on the manual work of our volunteers, friends, and family. We give each plant careful attention so that we can sell high-quality fresh produce independently and directly to local stores and restaurants.

    NOTE:
No formal knowledge or skills are required, however, we welcome useful skill-sets, and anything that you can offer to improve the farm.

    WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
Our farm is a place for people to fulfill their dreams of creating useful stuff with their hands. We believe in maintaining an independent farm that we could enjoy and make a decent living out of at the same time. We wish to give volunteers a relaxed environment in which they could enjoy work and other activities. we are continuously improving our farm, making it a beautiful place to live and work. We are happy to accommodate volunteers will all kinds of skill sets. Volunteers can do almost anything they have in mind, from building ecological facilities to seasonal agricultural tasks in the net houses.

    WHERE WE ARE LOCATED:
Our Farm is located in a small village named Ta'oz. Ta'oz is conveniently located between Tel Aviv and Jeruselum.
