If you want to apply as a workawayer at our farm we prefer that you are familiar with groundwork exercises when training horses and to be able to proceed with the following exercises for example:
Lead a horse from the partner position
Head down exercises
Nose to flank exercises (have to horse kiss the stirrups)
Yielding to driving aids exercises

You would usually have a private bedroom but everything else is shared. You are always welcome to the fridge and at our table as we want you to feel at home.
There is contiguous open area around Akureyri where the biosphere and landscape are extremely diverse, and vegetation in many places is especially lush. In the urban area there are also interesting natural features, and on the hills of Akureyri there are many intriguing plants.
Within the Akureyri town limits there are many interesting recreation areas and hiking paths. The Akureyri Botanical Garden is known far and wide for its beautiful walking paths and luxuriant flora. One of Akureyri's gems, it was founded in 1912, and it contains nearly every plant found in Iceland ca. 450 and nearly 7,000 foreign plants. The town has many museums, galleries and exhibitions who offers insight in the diversity of the culture and the nation as a whole.
