    Description

We are a family of four living in a beautiful countryside house with a stunning view just outside North London.

Alex (the dad) grew up in North London. He's a personal trainer and leads wellness programs and retreats both here in the UK and abroad in Portugal. He travels for work sometimes but when he's home he listens to podcasts and all types of music (used to DJ), loves making big healthy meals and getting outside in nature. Kristen (the mom) runs an influencer marketing agency and is originally from New York. When not working or mothering, she like doing DIY and crafty things around the house, going out for a run or enjoying really good coffee and cakes. Both of us are spiritual people who enjoy learning about other people and cultures. Before we had kids we spent 7 months backpacking central and south America, where part of that time was spent on a Workaway placement at a turtle sanctuary and surf spot in El Salvador.

The kids... Perla, a girl, 5, and Solon (Sol for short) a boy, 18 months. Perla is very outgoing and a real girly girl. She loves dancing, singing, crafting and using her imagination. She also has a couple friends on our street that come over often.

Sol currently takes a bit more attention, but he's a really happy kid. He loves putting things in other things, playing with pots and pans, climbing stuff he probably shouldn't be climbing, and is beginning to say the odd word.

We can't wait to welcome you int our home!

By coming to stay with us, we're happy to share knowledge and experience of family life in England, what it's like to live with both British people and an American person, plus we're happy to teach you as much or as little about our career paths and what we're currently doing. Alex also runs wellness programs and events, so if you're interested in the following activities you may be able to attend events: breathwork, meditation, sound baths, movement practices/ecstatic dance, plant medicine ceremonies, personal training sessions, etc.

-Minimum stay 2 months, but really looking for someone who can stay for from now through at least Christmas time!

    What we are looking for:

-A live-in babysitter/au pair who would watch Sol 1 day per week, 9-4ish. Preferably Monday or Thursday.
-Looking for someone that can help us out around the house. You don't have to be a cleaner but just general help cooking or cleaning up (esp after meals) is super appreciated.
-Babysitting the odd evening too so we can go out for dinner, drinks or to the gym together. Once a week is fine.

-You would have your own room and can eat our food and meals, plus a small amount of pocket money per week. We are very passionate about eating organic, quality food.
-The village isn't really that close to any shops (5 minute drive, 35 minute walk). It's a plus if you have a car and can drive (if you come from the UK)... if not, you'll probably need to get a cycle (we're happy to provide one for you too). We're always happy to give rides as well, plus there's a bus that goes 3x a day. last resort is there's uber/taxies too.
-We are a 10 minute drive to Potters Bar station which is 18 minutes to Kings Cross Station (Central London)
-We are a 5 minute drive to Cuffley station which is 40 minutes to Old Street (East London)
-Kristen works from home so you won't be completely alone with the kids straight away, you will have time to bond first

If you think you could be a good match for our family please get in touch, we would love to speak you!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will have your own room with 1 single ikea bed that extends out to a double if needed, plus 1 built in wardrobe/closet. We have a three bedroom house. The children share a room. There is one bathroom. We have a front garden and back garden and live on cul de sac/dead en road. The house backs onto an absolutely stunning field and valley so is nice and quiet. We moved out of London after years of living there so we could see the stars at night and not hear sirens and we love it. It's right next door to an apple orchard that's open to the public as a community project. There are beautiful country walks all over. We will provide your food. We are not vegan but when we do eat meat, fish or dairy (only occasionally) we make sure it is organic and as sustainable as possible.
