Description
The two owners, Farid and Buelo are both fun loving, well-seasoned adventures who’ve fallen in love with this part of the world. Open-minded and ready to play just as hard as they work, this experience will be anything but the corporate job you might be considering instead of workaway. We encourage you to choose this path.

The town of San Rafael is a quaint, typical rural Colombian pueblo with all you need from grocery stores to restaurants, bars and more. Very few people speak English here so its an ideal place to improve your Spanish through the immersion.
Help
We are seeking up to 6 volunteers with experience in anything from gardening to trail building, hostel tasks, painting, team cooking and more. We are developing 3 different properties so the tasks and the needs will vary. We mainly just want volunteers with a good work ethic and great can-do attitude.

We have 3 dwellings on three separate tracks of land plus many acres of land to camp on, if you prefer that. People who like remote living in nature will love it at the volunteer house. If you want more of a town scene, you can stay in our hostal instead . When available, the Jungle Cabin can also be used for additional privacy and camping on the land is fine nearly anytime. We have all the camping gear you need or bring your own.
Food is included.What else ...
The fun stuff: San Rafael in Antioquia Colombia is one of the greenest places imaginable. There are countless charcos - swimming holes with giant boulders, crystal clear pools, and bubbling whitewater - in which to sit, swim, relax and enjoy. The community that the land is in has less than 120 members and has no cars, trucks or buses. It can only be accessed on foot or by bicycle, motorbike, horse or mototaxi (tuk tuk). It's about an hour walk from town but a quick 10 minute moto ride. The peace and tranquility is unparalleled. Because of this unique automobile free feature and that the neighboring landowners allow you to walk freely (with respect), you can roam up and down the grassy mountainsides with the cows and horses or enter the jungle. With so many streams and miles to walk or ride, a nature lover will never get bored here. The birds are exotic, colorful and plentiful and often small monkeys can be seen in the trees.
In their free time, the Volunteers will have access (when not in use by clients or the owners) to horses, and mountain bikes, innertubes for float trips, and multiple waterfalls.
Transportation is easy: Grab a bus from Terminal Norte in Medellin directly to San Rafael or to Guatpe and then transfer to San Rafael from there. It's about a 2.5-3 hour ride. We'll help you navigate all that.A little more information

However my experience with the project itself really fell short of my expectations. It was clear to me from the beginning that there was a lack of people and project management skills, and with a… read more
