    Description

Non profit cat sanctuary and rescue. Need 2 people to help with kitty chores daily both in AM and PM. Approx 3 hours a day but plenty of time in-between am and pm shifts. Would be work in exchange for free place to stay. Private bedroom and bath. Would be FIVE days/nights per week and 2 days off. IF you choose to work days off then that would be for pay. MUST LOVE CATS and NOT HAVE CAT ALLERGIES!!! We are in Sonoita, Arizona. It is BEAUTIFUL here. Great weather and climate year round. 40 minutes to Tucson without the intense heat. You'll love it here. Also.... have many outdoor project and potential for someone with a green thumb to utilize my TWO GIANT greenhouses and grow veggies as a side job for you to make income selling the veggies you grow. So many beautiful hiking and biking trails here and also 12 miles away a BEAUTIFUL fishing, swimming, boating lake. Lake Patagonia. So much nature opportunities in the area.

I just had a family (workawayers) stay with me for 2 weeks and Samantha and Emilio made a wonderful tutorial video for future helpers to see EXACTLY what the job entails. Please ask me for a link to video. Once you watch the video and decide this job is the right fit for you then we can take it from there.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.... Meg

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Arizona is a beautiful place. So much to do here. So many hiking and camping places throughout the state. I just moved here a year ago and am in love with it here. In my home you'll learn how to care for and handle cats..... They are amazing animals. So many different personalities. You'll end up understanding their behaviors and loving them each individually. You'll learn how to interact with them and learn how to do rehabilitation, treat illnesses and injuries. You'll learn how to keep a sanctuary disinfected and clean to shelter standards. As far a cultural..... Since I am quite new to AZ I'd love to have someone accompany me to museums, plays, musical events and what other adventures AZ has to offer.

    Help

Socializing with cats, cleaning litter boxes, sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, feeding and providing fresh water daily, stocking shelter necessities. Some heavy lifting and some stairs involved. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. We run a tight ship. Shelter must be kept clean and smelling good always.

I speak some Spanish. Would like to learn more. Was speaking some Portuguese as a younger person ...... kind of rusty now. So I'd love to have someone tutor me again:)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

One VERY large bedroom in lower level of a 3 story home..... You will have your own bathroom. This is the level of the sanctuary. Cats won't be in your room or bathroom. You will help approximately 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. So you'll have the entire day to either work a job, go to school or just explore. Also option to work on days off for pay.

There will not be regular meals together. So you'd have to factor in your own meals..... However there will be occasions where I'd be happy to cook and share meals together. Or youd be welcome to cook as well. Also going out to eat would be fun. You'd have your own refrigerator and microwave in your living area so that you can have food and snacks as you wish.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

I have been rescuing cats and finding them wonderful homes for over 25 years. I'm mostly laid back. Animals seem to bring people together for a cause which creates great friendships and is so rewarding. Will you help us in our love for rescuing all animals big and small but mainly cats?

A mellow small dog or a cat may be fine along as it works okay with my animals. I have one, very sweet, laid back dog. Of course cats too.
