    Description

We are an easy going couple in our late thirties and early fourties who have a 16 acre farm that we brought nearly 9 years ago.

As we now have a 8 year old gorgeous wee girl, a 8 month old baby boy, and seperate from our farm (which is non-profit and just for self-sustainability) I work and run my own business and my partner running his family business, we could really do with some help on the farm to continue building our self-sustainable dream.

We have a couple of caravans and some cabins onsite.
We are a few minutes from the Kaipara harbour, 20 mins from Mangawhai beach, and half an hour from the famous Waipu caves and beautiful coastal beaches.

We started on our property with only a caravan and a bare block. We now have built a shack around our caravan and have some other infrastructure in place like large chook coups, gardens, compost toilet and compost bins, dirt bike/race car track, woodshed, yards and more.

We have built some new cabins for us to live in and our shack we used to live in is now a self contained helper quarters, with kitchen, dart board and tv. However with the cyclone it is now out of action and we have built a new cabin for helpers to stay in until we fix the shack.

We could do with a hand with painting, staining, gardens, household tasks, wood chopping, weed eating, horse training and maintenance and other building type jobs/projects.

We all follow similar ideas for the farm trying to maintain a chemical, spray free paradise for us, our child and family.

We used to have meat cattle, just up until very recently, but with a mindset change are now focusing more on building a food forest.

We already have extensive gardens, a orchard, and a beautiful native bush block, but need help finishing off and maintaining, as well as planting more 🌳

I was pescatarian a year or so ago but (after watching seaspiracy) and transitioned to full vegetarian 🌱 My partner and my daughter still eat meat, but very minimally.
When I was pregnant I went back to eating meat and now eat very minimal meat.

I myself am a Qualified Naturopath, Life Coach and masseuse, my partner owns a CCTV drainage company and a welding and fabrication company that build trucks, hot rods and race cars, and is also a musician.

One couple (our friends of 10+years) who live on the farm installs wormarator septic tanks for a local company, and his partner a stay at home mum. They have built their own tiny home paradise here.
My best friend (of 20 years) also lives here building her tiny home paradise too ✨
We all have gardens and trees 🌳 as much as we can get in the ground 😆

We have a wonderful boat and lots of people that live here love to fish. We all love to garden 🌱 Some play music, ride dirt bikes, do yoga and meditation and we all try to love and laugh as much as we can.
We do love a good deep spiritual, worldly, life conversation with others from around the globe 🌍

We have chickens, ducks, a horse, a pony, cows, rescue staffy, as well as a staffy puppy, and three bengal cats.
Please do not ask us to host you if you are allergic to any of the mentioned animals or are scared of them.

Please join us in helping us live our dream if you enjoy good company, laughter, love and some good kiwiana.

We always have little projects we are working on around the farm and are always looking for help.

We have recently brought a small bus, which is our newest project for travelling NZ ourselves 🇳🇿

I would suggest bringing a head torch and a pair of gumboots in the winter and in summer, a hat and some sunscreen.

If you are vegetarian/vegan, or have allergies or conditions please let us know prior so we can arrange meals etc, and if you are gluten-free or dairy free etc, please bring specialised products with you, i.e plant milks, gluten free products, or be willing to pay something towards the food shopping, as we only supply standard supplies in the kitchen.

You can have access to internet at the house.

Please if you organise a stay with us and we have you booked in, make sure you have organised all you need to, as we buy food for your kitchen, spend time organising your accomodation, jobs that need doing, and turn away other helpers in order to have you stay. Telling us a day or two before you are meant to stay that you can no longer come is very frustrating for us, and if that happens we will be leaving that information as a reference on your account as it really is a let down for hosts.
