    Hi!

Do you love the outdoors and big sky sunsets!?

We are a family of 4 living and working on a large cattle property west of Texas, QLD. We are seeking a 'big sister' to help with the children, Ned (4) and Grace (15 months), and light domestic duties while my husband and I work on farm. I also run a business from home.

We are a fun loving, outdoor family. We have a large beautiful garden and vegie patches we spend a lot of time in. We also are on the river and have our own beautiful sand beach. We are foodies and love to cook and try new meals. We would love someone who would be willing to share their culture and foods with us.

With us you will get to breathe agriculture in Australia, seeing cattle out of the garden, driving through paddocks and maybe even hopping in the tractor to see what it's all about.

Texas is a buzzing little community with a pub, cafe, bakery and giftware shop and great sporting teams with large tourist centres (Stanthorpe, Goondiwindi and Toowoomba) all within 2 hours.

You will be welcomed into our home as if you are family, with a large spacious master suite for your private use, overlooking the beautiful garden.

Come share our beautiful oasis with us!

We are a down to earth Aussie family. We love nothing more than a good laugh, getting outside and enjoying the outdoors.

You will be immersed in Australian agriculture and all it has to offer. Come to look around paddocks, enjoy an afternoon down at the river or maybe even come away on a camping weekend with us. There's also rarely a big sky sunset too far away!

We love our food and are always cooking and trying new recipes. We would love to learn about your culture and favourite meals too. It would be amazing if you could also teach us some of your language and about your country while you are with us.

We are heavily involved in the Texas community and you will have the opportunity to be apart of it too, whether it be a meal at the pub or helping to volunteer at a fundraising event for the local Kindergarten.

We have travelled a lot of Australia can share some wonderful spots for you to visit before you head home.

    Nannying and light domestic duties:
    - caring and creating a fun environment for the children while we work
    - enjoy playing with the children, getting outside and going on adventures
-we love messy play! There's not much a bath and the washing machine cannot fix!
    - meal preparation (mostly snacks and lunch for the children) and the occasional dinner. We would love for you to share your favourite foods with us.
    - cleaning up after the children, making sure toys are away at the end of the day and creating a clean space to start the new day in
    - light cleaning duties including the odd vacuum and mop in family areas when required, keeping the kitchen clean and dishwasher unpacked. You are responsible for the cleanliness of your own space.
    - light laundry duties - washing and putting away of children's clothes and linens.

My husband and I both come and go throughout the day so most of these roles are shared. All domestic duties are shared (we are all living together so it is everyone's responsibility). We do not expect you to clean up after our mess or do our laundry - the children's needs are your main priority.

    Accommodation

You will have your own private master suite with queen bed, ensuite and large walk in robe. This room has views of our beautiful garden.
This space is your own and includes a TV so you can have your own time and space to chill out when you don't want to be hanging out with us.

You may choose to keep some personal snacks in your room, however we do not encourage eating in bedrooms. Meals, especially dinner are family events and we make sure to sit down at the table to eat together and have conversation. We will provide all meals, except specialty snacks.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

South East Queensland has many beautiful places to explore. Stay on farm and enjoy our beautiful bush and river or venture to Stanthorpe to enjoy beautiful food and wine.

You are welcome to come with us when we are going out for an activity.

Public transport is available at large local centres (Goondiwindi, Stanthorpe, Toowoomba), however is not an option where we are. If you are interested in doing a lot of sight seeing in your time off, your own vehicle would be preferable.
