I'm Imme, I am 22 years old and I'm taking some time off from my Masters' Resilient Farming and Food systems in Wageningen. this a small town in the middle of the Netherlands. I am enjoying student life, and I love to climb, but now I want to take some time off to experience travelling and hopefully contribute meaningfully. I am very interested in (organic) agriculture, and I would love to experience life on a farm. I am also fascinated by the idea of living self-sustainably, and producing food in a sustainable way. For me, community, good vibes and contributing positively to society are really important. I love nature and doing sports, like climbing, cycling and surfing, and I also like reading or playing games. I also like to cook. I love to meet people and do fun things in groups, and I am a very energetic and enthousiastic person when excited about something. I can also be calm, and perfectly content just reading a book all afternoon. This year (feb-june) I want to travel around Europe for some time, gain new experiences and meet a lot of new people! I would like to help on a farm, or in a climbing or surfing hostel. Also general house maintenance has my interest. If I can, I would love to learn the basics of a new language, or improve my French and Spanish. I am very interested in languages and of course I am also willing to share the basics of the Dutch language with whomever is interested ;)

I specialize in organic agriculture and sustainable food production,so I know some things about organic farming and integrated pest management. My knowledge is mainly theoretical so I would love to apply it in practice. I have some experience in gardening, and live in a house that requires a lot of maintenance, so I have skills in painting, house maintenance and basic carpentry. I have volunteered before, for example at a social food distribution center and at a floating cow farm (it's called the floating farm in Rotterdam, look it up!). I have spent two months workawaying at two organic farms previously. I am a fast and eager learner. I would love to help cook (especially cooking for a large group is a challenge that I would like to take on), take care of animals, help in the garden, think about sustainable solutions, do maintenance, work in hospitality and with the proper instruction I am willing to try to do anything!
