Description
Welcome to the lake! Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer with us as we transform shipping containers into lakeside cabins and build lakeside glamping sites. The properties are no more than a 40 min drive from the main town of Coyhaique.
We are available to show and explain the flora and fauna of the region, share DIY travel tips and destinations and experience cultural immersion with our extended family and friends.
Who are we? Diego and his extended family have been in the region for more than 70 years and have a lot of knowledge about the region.
This year we are looking forward to the finishing touches for the cabins (finish carpentry, paint, drywall) and installing a new well and water system for the properties, building nature trails and creating wonderful landscapes on our properties.
We plan to focus on finishing our lakeside cabins which are made from recycled shipping containers. There is lots of work to do and we are excited to have you help us!Types of help and learning opportunities

What else ...
During time off you can enjoy the lake or we can help you plan various activities in the region. Aysen, a remote region in Chilean Patagonia, is known for its breathtaking landscapes, pristine wilderness, and adventurous spirit. With its rugged mountains, sparkling lakes, winding rivers, and glaciers, Aysen offers a playground for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. We can help make recommendations for activities during your visit, some of those include hiking, kayaking, wildlife and birdwatching, exploring glaciers, stragazing, fly-fishing, rodeos, mountain biking, rock climbing and more. Here are some of our favorite hikes in the region:
One of the highlights is the Cerro Castillo National Reserve, where you can hike to the iconic Cerro Castillo peak, explore the surrounding valleys, and camp amidst the pristine wilderness. Another must-visit is the Parque Nacional Quelat and Reserva Simpson.A little more information
