Description
Having ‘retired’ to my rainforest covered peninsula on a lake an hour inland from Cairns, (where I'm in the final stages of completing my house, about to extend the barn, convert a a 34’ offshore cat into a houseboat, and tidy up the ski boat) ....
..... my most pressing need is to make the prototype 'Tiny House' from some of the truckloads of sawn hardwood timber I've recently been given.
The plan/opportunity is to set up jigs, to make flat pack kit versions, so if this is your 'forte', I'm more than happy to share the rewards.....
In the meantime you can sail the Hobie Cat, have a windsurf, or paddle one of the canoes, it's a truly beautiful, fun place, surrounded by nature, and, at 700m above sea level, normally 4 to 5 degrees cooler than Cairns, summer and winter.
Check out my reference - from my first two workawayers - they've stayed with five different friends of mine between here, Adelaide, and Tasmania, since they left!
Come and have fun!
Cheers

Sailing, skiing, canoeing, fishing (not that I’m a fisherman- yet! but the Lake is full of them, world record Barramundi, 56kg caught here .... great birdwatching region.... incredible bio-diversity, plant and animal, saw a tree kangaroo on the property a few years ago, there are plenty of them 15 minutes away .... right next to a heap of pristine waterfalls, crater lakes etc etc etc ...,
Warm days and cool nights (700m above sea level) Swim sail, ski or paddle by day, sit around the circular fireplace at night .... another project that’s just come my way is building a cabin with a frameless plexiglass window that curves right up overhead for stargazing whilst snuggled up ....Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
My French needs a lot of practice!
Apart from that, a helping hand with any of the projects and/or chores, plus a few laughs in between would be great.Languages spoken

Share house - one spare bedroom with double bed, tons of couch space, an old caravan, that we could make liveable in a 'couple' of days, or camp at sunset point.
I'm happy to provide the materials required for three healthy meals a day - I eats lots of fruit and veg, plus grass fed eggs and grass fed meat and non farmed fish. I also bought three new fishing rods a couple of years ago, for my workawayes to do a bit of hunting and gathering, plus encourage me to, too!!!! - but that hasn't happened much - yet! There are stacks of fish, right in front of the house, just have to be gentle with the Turtles, who compete for the bait! What else ...
I come down to Cairns once a week flexible which days, so could pick you up .... which would probably be the easiest
