Description
Nestled at the mouth of the Eume River, right next to the Fragas do Eume Natural Park, our home offers an idyllic retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Located in the northwest of Spain, we're just a 10-minute walk from the beach.
Our place is a peaceful spot where you can relax and take some time for yourself, with the cities of Ferrol, Coruña, and Santiago just a short drive away—15, 30, and 50 minutes by car.
During your stay, you’ll have your own bedroom with a private bathroom and a kitchen equipped with basic tools, but we’re always happy to share the common areas of the house and join with you to show you around!
I'm Marta, a 32-year-old girl born and raised in this area, though I’ve spent the past 13 years traveling. I’m a digital nomad working as a project manager for an international education NGO, so I’m usually around the house, although I do travel often. When I’m in Galicia, I stay with my parents, Lucía and Javier, who share the house with a friendly 3-year-old trained German Shepherd and four affectionate cats.
My parents builted this house over 20 years ago and have tirelessly worked to make it as cozy and beautiful as it is today. However, my parents are getting older, and I’m often busy with work, so we’d love to have someone energetic and willing to help us keep the house in top shape, especially outdoors. We need help with gardening, moving furniture, cleaning the garage, maintaining the house, and more, but we promise it won’t be too tough though!
In return, we offer great company, delicious organic food, and the best tips for making the most of your time in the area. I’m very active and always have weekend plans—whether it’s climbing mountains in Picos de Europa, surfing at Pantin beach, taking around 10km walk with the dog, camping, visiting friends with amazing eco-projects, going to music festivals, within many other great plans!
If this sounds like your kind of experience and matches your energy, we’d love to hear from you! Looking forward to getting to know you :)Types of help and learning opportunities

In our region there are many ecological projects underway and we are part of many of them together with some friends, we would love to show them to you. Additionally, my dad, born in Cuba, is a historian and has extensive knowledge of the area if you are interested in knowing more about it. My mother is a doctor, born and raised in Madrid, with extraordinary musical taste, gastronomic skills and wonderful conversation. The three of us love to travel, meet people from different parts of the world, watch movies, read books, go to museums and, above all, we love pleasant conversations with some wine on our terrace!
Help
Hi ! We will do some intentional intervention in the garden at the end of January, during February and March 2025. We need some help! If you are interested in more details, let us know so we can get in touch! Thank you :)

We'll have everything ready for your arrival. We're very flexible but always have something going on, so we'll make you part of the team as soon as you get here! We won't ask you to weak up early, but we will appreciate if you are ready to support the work around 11 am from Monday to Friday. After some outside work, like pruning the trees, cutting the grass, cleaning the garage, moving some furniture, possibly varnishing windows, doors, and other furniture, taking away the spiderwebs, sweep the terraces, etc we would appreciate if you could help preparing lunch so we all eat together. After lunch we would also appreciate it if you could support cleaning the kitchen. This is the plan, but we will weekly see the needs and reschedule as needed. If for example you would like to work 3 days a week, around 7 hours per day and have the rest of the week free, is just a matter of communicating and coordinating between us!Languages

In our house you will have your own bedroom. You will have your own bathroom and kitchen with basic utensils. We will provide you with the entrance key to the house so you can reach your room independently. You will have plenty of space to store your belongings and plenty of furniture to feel comfortable. There is also space to park your car or van if you need it.
We are willing to offer you some basics so you can prepare your own breakfast and dinner (salt, oil, pasta, rice, beans, quinoa, etc). And we will welcome you to have lunch with us from Monday to Friday. We will also show you the ecological projects in which we buy our vegetables and meat in case you want to buy for your own. We have separate freezer for you to store your own fresh food. What else ...
There are planty ways you can get to our house (buses, train, etc) but if you need a ride, let us know, and if possible, we will pick you up! In any case, it would be great if you come wiht your own car or you rent one here if you want to vist around on your own, public transport is not the best.
We also want you to know that summer time is super nice, but winter gets a little bit cold, it rains and it starts being night around 5pm. Be ready to take some relxing time at home, or bring good clothes to be outside!
We also find it important to mention that our dog is a trained dog. Please do not interact with him until we show you how to do it (it is important as it is a guard dog).
Any doubt you may have, please, do not hesitate in asking, we value transparent, honest and clear conversations and communication more than anything!A little more information

I am also a digital nomad, so I know how it goes. If we need to reschedule work at home, we will do so. Just be confident in communicating with us and we can arrange a win-win plan!
Space for parking camper vans
We have space for campers at the house, but our place is at the top of a hill... depending on the van, it may not be possible to get to the house. If this is the case, you might be able to park down the hill and walk up if you are in perfect fit!
