Description
I have a beautiful villa in the western Algarve. I am in a little village just outside Lagos. 6 minute drive to the beach. Lovely walks, two cafes within walking distance and on the bus routes.
Multiple beautiful beaches surround us as well as countryside and woodland.
I live with my two young children (6 and 8 years), our dog, cats and our chickens.
I have approximately 3 acres of land and the house to maintain. Looking for help in the garden and cleaning inside. This will be my house only and not any business related activities. DIY skills are always useful here too!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The language and the culture. I’m in a very Portuguese village. Lots of municipal events are organised in lagos. Sample the food, enjoy the beaches and wander the town.

Help
I have a large house and about 3 acres so there is always stuff to do in the house and garden.
There is also cleaning, painting, DIY and various garden tasks depending on the weather!

Accommodation
In exchange you’ll have a double bed in a large tent in our garden. This area has been specifically set up for volunteers with a compost toilet, hot electric shower and kitchen area. The tent area itself is off grid but there is water, power and wifi at the kitchen area slightly further up the garden. There is a proper double or queen size mattress inside the tent, and towels and bedding are provided. I do a weekly load of washing for you and there is a washing line at the camp area.
The kitchen area is set up with fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, hot plate, air fryer and microwave. I only have two tents so there will only ever be 2/3 volunteers here at a time.
.
What else ...
Please note the entire property is Non-Smoking.
Helping hours are generally flexible. There’s lots to do in your free time and it’s best to have a car. Visit the fort in Sagres, wander the mountains of monchique or just head to Lagos and explore town a little.

Super friendly and nice to have around she was also extremely proactive and got lots done during her stay here. From cooking delicious meals to cleaning and painting she just got on with things.
It was a pleasure to host her here and I’d welcome her back.
Laura is really kind and fun, and she is very communicative which I highly appreciated. The working hours were very flexible and Laura always trusted me to be in charge of my tasks and my time while still being available if I had questions or needed help. The work I did mostly… read more

They were happy to take on any jobs from weeding to painting and moving wood. They only stayed a few days as were travelling around but were really friendly and helped me out.
Hope we'll meet again!
They were extremely knowledgable and capable, completing loads of work, from building a bike store from pallets, to painting and fixing taps.
