Description
We are a family of five humans, lots of dogs and a few cats.🐶😺
Days in Lårdal at our place involves daily routines in our 8-dog kennels, family activities, seasonal work like snow removal, weeding, planting and harvesting vegetables 🥦🥒🥔
We are also active in our community and want you to be part of our work volunteering with different projects here 🌐
Use your days hiking with dogs, sharing life with the family, meeting new people and learning about Norwegian culture 🥾
We are building a community focused on green living. We intend to open our property for the public, aiming to be "a place for all people, in all stages of life." We want to be a place where people can come together, figure out life, "take a pause from reality" and find happiness in daily life 👫👬👭
We have a semi-large vegetable garden and plan to raise chickens, pigs, and goats 🐷
You must take ownership of, and take pride in your projects. There will be plenty of opportunities for learning and fun together 😊

**Important Safety Notice – Please Read Before Applying**
In our home, safety and wellbeing come first — especially for the children, animals, and guests who are part of our daily life. Therefore, we have a strict "no-tolerance policy" regarding certain behaviors and substances:
– No alcohol, drugs, or tobacco are allowed anywhere on the property – this includes all accommodations, work areas, and social zones.
– We require all volunteers to present a recent police clearance (criminal background check) before arrival.
– We cannot accept anyone with a history of violence, including domestic abuse or sexual offenses – this is non-negotiable. Minor offences can still be ok.
– Any form of aggressive, threatening, or disrespectful behavior will lead to immediate dismissal. We will help you find a new accomodation, of course.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are building something new in the rural district of Norway. We live in a small, tight-knit community where you will experience Norwegian culture at its best. We also do lots of things "the old way," meaning you can learn traditional building and maintenance.
Learn the trade of dog-sledding/ mushing. We carry the mushing tradition after the Norwegian Leonhard Seppala, who raced the famous Balto and Togo.
We work close with the city and have access to many cultural heritage. Some through a few nearby museums.
We live by the old Telemark Canal, where boats are sluiced from sea level to 79 meters above sea level.
There is a lot of old Norwegian culture to take in.
If your interested, send us a message and lets talk 🙂Au Pair Help
