    Description

We are Andreas and Michelle, living with our two children, Mari (5y) and Paula (3y), in a lovely house at the gateway to Appenzell, in Stein. We love spending time outdoors and in the mountains, enjoying nature in all its seasons.

We travelled all over the world with our own made bus Selma and had awesome experiences with workaway and want to offer this experience to others as well. We value cultural exchange and really enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds — learning about their way of life while also sharing a bit of our own Swiss culture in return.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As a Workawayer with us, you’ll have the chance to experience Swiss culture and get to know the unique traditions of the Appenzell region. We love being in nature and are always happy to share tips for exploring the area, from beautiful hikes to local hidden gems.

You can also develop your skills by helping out in the garden or taking part in small projects around the house. If you enjoy spending time with children, there are also opportunities to support us with our kids in a warm, family environment.

    Help

Workawayers can help us with a variety of hands-on projects around the house and garden. This might include gardening, assisting with small construction or renovation projects — for example, helping with the building of a sauna or doing some work in the garage.

From time to time, we also appreciate a helping hand with our children, especially if you enjoy spending time with kids.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We live in Stein, right at the gateway to Appenzell. Our home is perfectly located next to the pedestrian bridge that connects us directly to St. Gallen, making it easy to meet people and explore the city while still enjoying the peace of the countryside.

We live in a spacious house with one tenant and a dedicated area on the lower floor for our Workaway guests. The space includes a private room with a double bed, a toilet, and a small kitchen with a fridge.

Outside, there’s a large garden with plenty of space to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature — including a small pond that adds to the peaceful atmosphere.
