Description
AUTUMN 2026 - READ THIS FIRST 👇🏻🍂
We are currently looking for one person to join our family and help out over a longer period of time.
The help will mainly involve everyday family life: cleaning, cooking, childcare, and occasionally some light outdoor tasks around the house and garden.
We are looking for someone who is calm, kind, independent, and comfortable being around children. It’s important that you are open-minded, flexible, and able to take initiative on your own.
We would also love if you are curious about learning a little Danish and becoming part of our daily life and routines here in the countryside.
We are looking for someone who can stay for around 2–3 months. Because it takes time for both our family and a volunteer to get to know each other and settle into daily life, stays shorter than 2 months are unfortunately not a good fit for us.
If this sounds like something for you, feel free to send us a message — we’d love to hear from you and tell you more about our place and family.
_______________________________
Welcome! We are an openminded and caring family of four.
Mikkel (37), Anna (37) and three daughters Sif(7years), Gry(5 year) and our youngest Rie(0yesrs)
Mikkel works for the Royal Danish Airforce as a mechanic and Anna is staying at home with the girls and working part time.
We live far out in the countryside on a little smallholding just beside the "Limfjord" in a town called Gjøl. We live with our three cats. Our house is from the 1880's and needs a lot of maintenance. We have a large garden with fruit trees, greenhouse, etc.
We have three outdoor cats, a rabbit, and two small ponies, so it’s important that you enjoy being around animals as well as children.
We live close to a little town with a shop and a local school bus(public transport is not the best).
Before we got the girls we used to travel a lot, and we were workawayer in Australia and New Zealand. We really enjoyed it, but now we have settle down and we want to try being the hosts instead.
Our interests are: winter bathing, board games, hiking/walks, books, being creative and impulsive, recycling, music, the outdoor life etc.

- Aalborg (det biggest city in the north of Denmark: a lots of restaurant, cafe, harbour etc.)
- Fosdalen plantage (big green nature area)
- West coast (go explore the northen sea and the sand dunes)
- Klitmøller (Cold Hawaii - surf spot) about 3 hours by buss. Great place for a weekend

He set the bar high.
Tom is a warm-hearted and incredibly caring guy. He quickly became part of our family and our two girls really liked him. He has many skills and he does not say no thanks to a challenge. He is hardworking and did a great job at our place. We wish the best for Tom and hope to see him again.
The work is interesting as you get involved in their project, their house and their garden.
They are also very well located being in the countryside but… read more
