    Description

    Hi i'm Lorenzo i'm 29.
I live with my father and my mother in a modern big house in Gavi in the middle of the wineyard .

I have 2 dogs very sweet perfect for afraid people and 1 cat they live with us in the house, we are family.

We are Italian countryside family, we try to live straight contact with the nature in ecosustainable life. We produce our electricity with electric solar panels and hot water from solar panels in the summer and stove by woods fire in winter and heaters so every energy comes from our property.
We produce wine too from the ground to the bottle, you can see all the passages to produce a great bottle of wine. We barter the wine with other families in the same area to provide others stuff that we need,
We produce wine for our family and local community, it isn't a profit making venture

The most of the help are in the fields because we try to give less humans impact to nature use our naturals human energy and less machinery. In the winery the process is natural and happens in barrels during the winter in old method with few new technologies.

As far as our workaway is concerned, we run a self sustainable community in the countryside where helpers are offered the opportunity to experience living in the Italian countryside and learning about the culture that exists here. We teach how to speak Italian, cook Italian food and about the local history. Learning about the production of wine is just one part of the experience we offer, it isn't the sole purpose of stay here. We endeavor to ensure our helpers are treated like family (duties and pleasure) and enjoy the stay here as much as possible.

In my house, You can stay in a room share with other workersaway with bathroom.

Usually i take 3 or 4 workersaway. So we are a lot and and you can meet people from another country.

Usually I answer by workway email and I give you my number for WhatsApp. After my answer, It s very important that you confirm your period by WhatsApp or with an other workaway email. A lot of people after my first answer by workaway disappear.... If I don't have sure days, is very difficult to reserve a place.

    Sorry sorry but
I can't host vegan or vegetarian because we are a lot of people and my mother cook all the dishes in the same time. in the italian dishes there are a part of meat, it is our tradition.

VISA:usually the people can stay on holiday in italy for 3 months with HOLIDAY VISA.
    workaway is voluntering:
I CAN NOT WRITE or COMPILE documents about your visa, your citizen, documents of job and your medical insurance, trust money or other etc. A lot of people ask me crazy things for visa etc

If you have allergies (almost grass and pollen ) is better that you take with you yours pills.

You need to bring with you : clothes to brake and dirty, hut, confortable shoes and gloves with robber hand, and if is possible bed sheets.

free internet , it is possible to visit Milano, Genova, Cinque Terre and Torin by train in one day or more.

The area of Gavi was already settled in Neolithic times; later it perhaps housed a Roman military outpost defending the Via Postumia. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire it was captured by the Magyars and later by the Saracens. According to the legend, the current name would derive from that of a princess of the latter, Gavia or Gavina, who had established herself in a castle here.

In 1625, during the First Genoese-Savoyard War, it was attacked and stormed by French-Savoy troops, but the Genoese retook it after only 21 days. It was decided to turn Gavi into a powerful fortress. After a French domination from 1804, in 1815 it was assigned to the Kingdom of Sardinia.

The fortress was later turned into a penitentiary; during World War II it was used as a POW camp (P.G. No. 5, a "bad boys" prison for those who attempted escape from other camps.)

The main sights to see are:
The fortress, rebuilt in the 17th century around the pre-existing castle.

Church of San Giacomo Maggiore, in Romanesque style

Municipal Palace. Remains of its medieval line of wall can be seen today.

Franciscan convent of Nostra Signora dele Grazie della Valle, outside the town (18th century). It houses a statue of St. Bernardino and a painting of the Virgin from the 15th century.
