Ce fut génial d'avoir l'énergie de cette belle famille chez moi pendant 10 jours. La famille de Cindy a été ma première expérience de Workaway, et je n'aurais pu avoir mieux.
Du début jusqu'à la fin (J'ai passé 10 semaines chez eux), ils ont été géniaux. Les blagues de Izan, les jeux de société avec Mali, la créativité et les rires avec Azel, écouter Léïto jouer de la guitare et les magnifiques conversations avec Cindy, touts

Cindy et sa famille ont été des hôtes formidables.
Mes 2 semaines et demi furet un réel plaisir auprès de cette famille qui a tant a offrir.
J'ai adoré garder les enfants qui sont tous extrêmement attachants et très éveillés. Les échanges avec eux étaient très intéressants et je ne considèrerais même pas le fait de m'occuper d'eux comme une
… read more tâche, ayant redécouvert, grâce a eux, une innocence et une joie de vivre de tout instant. Je n'ai jamais ressenti l'ennui durant mon séjour.
Cindy est aussi une hôte extrêmement sympathique et, grâce a elle, j'ai pu me sentir tout de suite intégré au sein de la famille. Par ailleurs, elle fut une guide formidable dans la région du Bas-Saint-Laurent, une région magnifique dans laquelle j'espère retourner.
J'ai aussi pu avoir deux jours afin de visiter la Gaspésie, ce qui fut très agréable.
Je recommande a 1000% Cindy et sa famille !
Et j'espère, moi-même, pouvoir les revoir.

We've planned to stay 2 weeks with Cindy and her kids and extended our stay to 3 weeks.
Cindy was really generous and nice and we had a lot of time to ourselves. The communication with the kids wasn't a problem as the older ones we're nearly fluent and often translated for the younger ones. But they understand a lot in English as well.

… read more invited us to a couple of home schooling events but we only participated a couple as we don't speak French.
She even organized skis and skates for us so we could enjoy the winter sports.
Cindy helped us to find the next workaway which didn't work out but we've been really grateful that she helped us even further to find a new place - which she wouldn't have to do.
Overall we can just say that Cindy and her family are amazing and we really enjoyed our time we had with the family.

Staying with Cindy and her four kids Mali, Izan, Azel and Leito has been a very interesting experience for me. Fun, activities and having a good time is central to their live and they are all very joyful. … read more follow their mum’s rules. Of course, I had to intervene at some points but I guess that’s normal. My room with the bed was nice and the house is a big playground for kids. Food was plentiful and delicious. The working hours depend on Cindy’s working hours but it’s never more than the 25h/week. Apart from all the small little nice moments, my best experiences were probably a hike in the national park Le Bic (for which I could use the family car) and picking mushrooms in the forest. After the Workaway, I got the possibility of hiking the Traversée de Charlevoix with Cindy, which was simply amazing. It was so nice to spend more time with this strong, cheerful and warm-hearted woman and I was sad when we had to say good-bye. Antonia was in trip during Corona-virus crisis so I know the trip was difficult for her because everything in my schedule (activities, time with friends, jobs...) was canceled and there was some days she was sick. During this moment, I do my best to support her as I was able to do it.

I stayed with Cindy for 16 days and she was my first host in Canada. As I waited a long time to get my visa, I was very grateful, that Cindy offered more or less last minute to have me for the beginning of my work and travel experience. Sadly, I have to say, that I had to leave Cindy and her kids earlier than planned.

… read more picked me up from the bus station, I had my own room in the house and the kids were a lot of fun. I came to theatre lessons with them and we went cross-countrying some times.
Still, for me, the house was too chaotic and even a bit dirty I have to say. I never knew what would happen in the next hour and so I could not prepare myself for upcoming things. It would have been great to have some orders and things to do besides washing the dishes, cooking sometimes and playing with the kids. Additionally, I was kind of lonely because the house is situated in a small village where there’s not much to do. Rimouski is 25km to go and I was scared of taking the car because of the snow and ice.

… read more my own activity when I needed a break. The house is in small village near Rimouski which gives the possibility to do many outdoor activities and also to reach the city easily. The St-Lorenz-River and many other small rivers are close to the place. My duties were to take care of her children and to prepar meals for them during my working days. My host always gave me her attention when I had a problem or a question and found a good solution. The working hours per week were more than fair and the communication between us was excellent.
